it sounds so different than anything they have ever done

This band used to have quite a few supporters on the old PRP message board. Anyone still into them? I had a phase where I dug the shit out of em and haven’t listened to them since.

    • NoSalvation

I used to like em because the girl I dated couldn’t stop listening to the Frankenstein Girls album and Tight. We both quit listening to em after that, the sound of the songs changed and got longer and we lost interest. Now I’m into Pig Destroyer and she’s into crack. Life goes on.

Like NoSalvation, I got into them because of an ex. Actually turned out to be the best thing that came out of that relationship imo. Anyway, my wife now likes them too, I’ve taken her to see them live and she really had fun even though she doesn’t like concerts in general. I worked road crew for them in 04 and have a signed drum head by the entire band, that’s a lasting personal memory for me. You’ll Rebel was solid and If was okay but I wasn’t too thrilled with this new album, especially after the hype they built up to release it. The release format was weird to me as well, they had like 5 different versions each with 1 or 2 different bonus tracks so I had to chase them down all over the place online. Between MSI and the Left Rights I think their overall sound and impact per song has been diluted over time, they haven’t had a song that I felt as strong about as Tornado, Revenge or 2 Hookers and an Eightball (which I still use as a ringtone occasionally…I get odd looks from people).

Much like oral sex, MSI one of those bands that you either really really love or really really hate.

This band always struck me as ICP with a different fan base (and sound – obviously). Musically and mentally, very juvenile. Not that there’s nothing wrong with that, just not my cup of tea.
