I liked most of the songs on ‘In Dreams,’ but I could never accept that it was an After The Burial album. Ironically, they were in ‘rare form’ on their last release; they just weren’t theirselves. With that said, ‘Wolves Within’ is very refreshing. It sounds a lot like their first two albums, with a dash of the catchiness of ‘In Dreams.’

Listened to the first 2 songs before work. Dug the hell out of them. It was listed as being out on the 10th so I went to FYE and Best Buy looking for it last week. I though In Dreams had some awesome moments. I love “My Frailty” and “Pendulum”. I discovered ATB on accident when I went to a show they headline last year for The Contortionist and ATB just blew them off the stage.

    • Up to song 5, and am very impressed so far. I’m still not a huge fan of the new(est) vocalist. He feels to cookie cutter metalcore to me, but the backing music speaks for itself.

He sounds so much better than their old vocalist though; that dude couldn’t scream at all. I felt bad for him. He’s on a track on the new album, and he sounds soooo bad. The new dude is just so consistent, that it gets old, but at least he has range and more than one scream to offer.

I know exactly what you mean, but for Rareform, I really liked that dudes vocals. He didn’t sound like every other singer playing in this genre, which to be honest…. the new guy does kinda. But don’t get me wrong, he crushes in this band.

I liked it too. My friend got me into them when the original version of that album came out, and I loved it instantly. He sounded like a pirate, real mean and gritty. I respect that though man. Sometimes the imperfections can make things better.
