All That Remains’ Bus Involved In Automobile Accident While On Tour In NY

All That Remains‘ tour bus was hit by another automobile this morning (December 15th). The damage appears to be minor, though frontman Phil Labonte was less than thrilled with the way the responding police officer handled the crash, offering:

“Bus just got hit by a car on the snowy NY roads. First thing the state trooper asks for is everyone on the bus’ name and date of birth. We were all in fucking bed so we have NOTHING to do with this shit. That fuck has absolutely ZERO authority to make that kind of demand. Way to go NY state police. Apparently you’ve never even heard of the 4th amendment.”

Proposal; We make NY State Troopers recite the 4th Amendment like the Pledge of Allegiance every morning the next time All That Remains makes a good album.

What a fucking cry baby. The police officer asked names and dates of birth, not to search the tour bus. Get the fuck out of New York, and take your shitty generic metal with you.

    • Seriously? Motherfucker doesn’t apparently understand that, for legal purposes, it might be necessary to have the names of anyone on the bus in case lawsuits arise or other matters persist. But hey, Phil knows the law better than the police and has a right to complain. I think the police have a right and responsibility to tase Phil until his voice breaks and we’re spared another record.

    • Phil’s libertarian bullshit aside, does anyone else remember when bands used to be able to get from point A to point B without being involved in some sort of vehicular accident? Seems like every week for the past few years there’s been 1-2 stories of this nature.

I thought the same thing when I read this. It must have to do with just how much more driving they do than the average person. Doesn’t explain why you never used to hear about this as much, though particularly prominent examples include Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne.

        • You never heard as much about these accidents because 10 years ago you didn’t have constant access to media through your cellphone the minute something happened. Go back in THEPRP archives about 5 years and you will see waaay fewer postings that involve a tweet or a facebook message that instantly informs us of a bands happenings. Not much past myspace anyways. I feel old.

I’m sure excessive touring and lack of funds (both due to the ever-crumbling music business) plays a part. When your driver is worn out from driving across the country in a week, shit like this will happen. More bands are touring more often than ever, of course we’re gonna hear about more accidents.

    • Phil has no fucking clue what the 4th Amendment is. I can’t say I’m surprised. Asking for the names of the people involved in an auto accident is not the equivalent of an unlawful search and seizure.

Did they search the vehicle and take your shit without a warrant or probable cause? No? Well then stop whining like a bitch. They were just doing their jobs. You’ll be happy to have a comprehensive accident report when you file the insurance claim, fucktard.

    • “Nice, last day of tour and we get hit by a car. Good job you douche.”

Yeah, it’s not like the Northeast hasn’t been pounded by snow for the past 48 hours or anything. Good job you douche.

i’m waiting for the day we find out that on a dare, Phil has been playing the character of ‘dickhead New England-er who knows Nothing about socio-political anything but continues to talk about these subjects regardless’ for like the last six years. he will be abandoning the role to concentrate on his more important ‘dude who knows how to write or sing anything worth listening to’.

    • The Fourth Amendment of the United States of America is as follows:

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

But then again, this is Phil Labonte that we’re talking about. The guy is a fucking moron.

Let’s run through some of his more memorable idiotic moments, shall we:

      1) He tried to call out Metal Injection on Twitter, but instead slagged off on Metal Insider.

      2) He thought that Brian Fair from Shadows Fall was trying to fuck his girlfriend at a Five Finger Death Punch show.

      3) He called Andy Biersack “a faggot” and defended it.

      4) Of course, themost recent incident where he is talking shit about Tom Morello.

So, for anyone to expect him to know anything about the US Constitution is like asking him to color inside the lines – impossible.

I am not going to comment on whether I am an All That Remains fan or not.

I am going to state that anytime a U.S.D.O.T. (Unites States Department Of Transportation) number is on a vehicle, the cops can pull over the vehicle and interrogate all occupants for any reason.

Besides, going on the internet and bitching about is only going to ensure that you get harassed by the cops everything you go to New York state. If the cop is a vindictive jerk, All That Remains will probably get the ire of cops across the country for this post.

Phil should have just kept his mouth shut and called his lawyers.

Phil reminds me of your friend in high school who always talked about politics and had no idea what the fuck he was talking about. “Goddamn Obama with his socialist dictatorship!!!! Good thing I’m an anarchistic capitalist.”
