Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Planning Metallica Cover With Jason Newsted On 2013 ‘Gigantour’

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has been dropping heavy hints that he plans to pair up with Jason Newsted on the upcoming ‘Gigantour‘. The two former Metallica members look to be planning to perform a song from the groups earlier days with Mustaine recently tweeting the following:

“If I play a song I wrote in @Metallica w/@JasonCNewsted, which should it be? Ride, Metal Militia, Phantom, Jump, Khutulu, or Four Horsemen?”

  • schuler

They should play Lulu in its entirety and we can just pretend they released it instead of Metallica.

    • dmoe

Everyone knows Metallica would be responsible for dog shit like that.

      • TheBDanAbstract

I’m sorry, have you not heard anything Megadeth has made this century?

  • dmoe

This should go over with that diva Hetfield. I predict some smarmy comments and spite not let go since 1984.

  • adamonfire

Playing Four Horsemen would be legit. I think they’ve long made-up after the string of Big 4 shows.

    • dmoe

      Time to move on, Cliff.

  • Stereotypical Evil Archer

Mechanix is the only Metallica song they should cover.

    • MyDarkPassenger

That’s the reason they should choose Four Horsemen. Its the same song different lyrics. They could just medley it and bring Jason on halfway through.

And anyone who can’t appreciate at least SOME megadeth can fuck right off.

  • EyeOfEveryScorn

Ron McGovney is pissed about this I bet.

In all fairness, Dave co-wrote those songs, so why would Metallica members have any reason to bitch? The energy and essence of Kill Em’ All is exclusively because of Dave. It’s not that they wouldn’t of had success without him, but their career jump start is directly influenced by Dave’s involvement.
