Scott Weiland On His Stone Temple Pilots Status: “Nobody In The Band Can Be Fired”
‘Fired’ Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has spoken with Spin about his current status in the band. Of the situation, which saw his bandmates allegedly fire him, Weiland said:
“There are some issues that have to be worked out with STP. But they’re the same issues that have been going on since the end of the last tour. Nobody in the band can be fired. No one’s ever fired anybody, and no one’s ever quit the band.”
He further went on to state:
“[STP] really have been together a long time, and I’m proud of that. I really do like those guys, and it hurts my feelings when we aren’t getting along, because I view them as family.”
His latest comments are of course a marked turn from his recent assertion that the move was “publicity stunt.”

DENIAL…what an embarrassing emotion.
DENIAL…seems it had to come.
Maybe they just needed to give him a wake-up call – let’s be honest, the rest of the band members won’t make nearly as much money without him as they would with him and judging from the venues that he’s performing in solo right now he needs them just as much. If Slash weren’t doing well I’d say he could always go back to him, but I’d have to say that Slash is doing even better than I would have expected with the solo project – Myles is quite the singer, though.
Their song ‘Big Empty’ from the 1st Crow soundtrack is about the only song this band has ever recorded that’s worth listening to again. The rest of it is mediocre or dull at best.
Damn bro, you really are dumb as shit arent ya?
I’d rather listen to Mike Patton fart into a microphone for an hour than listen to the first minute of Interstate Love Song.
Adult Themes for Voice. There’s your Patton-farting-into-a-microphone record.
No other soundtrack comes close to The Crow’s badasseryness. Except maybe The Commitments.
Mortal Kombat is up there, but I agree. The Crow soundtrack was something else. Introduced me to so many great bands.
