Pyrithion (As I Lay Dying, Allegaeon, Etc.) Streaming New Track “The Invention Of Hatred”
Pyrithion—the new project from As I Lay Dying‘s Tim Lambesis—have released the below lyric video for their track “The Invention Of Hatred“. As previously reported, the group finds Lambesis teamed with Allegaeon guitarist Ryan Gilsan and ex-Embodyment/The Famine guitarist Andrew Godwin.
Lambesis said of the project:
“I have wanted to do a heavier and more traditionally metal band for a while. Being that I own a recording studio, I thought a great place to start was by asking my engineer who the best guitar player is that he has recorded. I wanted to team him up with one of my favorite guitar players growing up.”
A 3 song EP from the group titled “The Burden Of Sorrow” will land in stores on April 16th via Metal Blade with tentative plans for a new full-length to follow at a later date. Pre-orders for the EP and more are now available at Pyrithion.com

COMMENTS
When I grow up, I want to be Tim Lambesis.
Oh dear God YES.
A long time ago, a friend of mine made the joke that “I’m going to play in a band so heavy that we’ll all detune to Drop E.” We laughed about it. Well, welcome to the new reality. It’s not that funny anymore… but at least there are more strings involved now.
Most people get softer as they get older… Tim get’s heavier
This kicks ass
I really enjoyed that. It felt like Satan was yelling in my face for four minutes. Good work Mr. Lambesis, I am officially confused.
Does anyone have a tissue for the mess I just made in my pants?
Yes, Tim! Join the darkside! Trust me, Satan’s cock is much more tasty than Jesus’.
