Stone Temple Pilots Fire Scott Weiland
Stone Temple Pilots have fired their frontman Scott Weiland. The following brief statement was released regarding the matter:
“February 27th, 2013 – Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland – no further information is available at this time.”

Sad/unfortunate, but not surprising in the least bit. And so my consecutive years streak of seeing STP will end at 5, spread out over 3 states. How about some Velvet Revolver?

I never understood all the Velvet Revolver hate. I mean, I didn’t really listen to “Libertad,” but I thought “Contraband” was solid. I at least got to see them; they put on a great show.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to say Stone Temple Pilots has broken up? They wouldn’t dare try to continue with the STP name without Scott would they? I’m glad I got to see them a couple times, great shows.

What a moronic sentiment. Singers who don’t show up to gigs/show up late/phone it in/act like morons/disrespect their audience/bandmates deserve to get kicked to the curb. This sort of shit went out of fashion 20 years ago with Axl Rose. If you admire these qualities, you are a goddamn fool.
yea yea whatever you say guy….I’ve seen them a bunch of times they’re on stage on time and rock the whole set. A bunch of people I know also say the same from other places. So what a couple times that happened big deal. He’s the face of the band and they are going nowhere without him. They should suck it up and cash the checks he brings in.

Wow, and I thought the thought of Velvet Revolver replacing Weiland and continuing on without him was a dumb one. If STP goes on without Weiland it will be even dumber. That thought is *almost* as dumb as when Aerosmith was talking about getting a new lead singer to replace Steven Tyler in 2010.
Side note: Fuck! I never got to see STP.

Scott Weiland’s solo albums is his best work though in my opinion. I listen to Happy In Galoshes more than anything else from him now. I really like 12 Bar Blues too. Both albums so different yet both are so good!

All I know is that the Stone Temple Pilots are/ were a great fucking rock band. Purple is a masterpiece of a record. The video for Big Bang Baby rules. All of this is probably just some p.r. stunt to create drama leading up to news that a new STP album is already in the can.
They should just hire William DuVall to do STP’s vocals. I’m sure he could fake that too.
If STP were a band that had two legitimate lead singers like AiC did, that could work.
