Cradle Of Filth, The Faceless, Decapitated, Etc. North American Tour Cancelled
Cradle Of Filth have scrapped their planned U.S. tour with The Faceless, Decapitated and The Agonist as a result of “U.S. immigration issues.” The bands camp said of the ill-fated trek:
“Cradle of Filth are really sorry to tell all of their fans that their U.S. tour ‘28 Days Closer to Hell‘ is going to have to be canceled, due to U.S. immigration issues beyond the band’s control. They have been desperately trying to solve these problems, but it has become evident they are not going to be resolved in time for the band to embark on a tour that starts next week. The band sincerely apologize to all their fans and to the other acts on the tour and want to assure people they have made every effort possible to go ahead with the tour.”
A press release also stated that there are no immediate plans to reschedule the tour, which appears to have now been cancelled entirely. The Agonist have also commented on the cancellation with the following:
“Dear North American Fans: Cradle of Filth has just released the following Tour Cancellation Statement [see above.] We are truly sorry to those of you who were coming out to see us live. This cancellation was beyond our control and we are devastated by this news, both emotionally and financially. We devoted so much to this tour that to say we are disappointed would be an immense understatement. Please accept our sincere apologies and we hope to see you all again soon.

I never remember these immigration issues being a problem back in the day (previous 10-15 years or so). Maybe they just never got as much attention due to the interwebz and what not.
That being said, who the fuck in their right mind books a tour without getting this nonsense squared away first? They say “beyond our control” but you kind of put that in your control by booking the tour without those important documents / credentials.
I don’t know all that goes into that process, so maybe I’m way off base here.
I’m just pissed this tour isn’t going to happen, I was looking forward to seeing Decapitated and The Faceless in the same night.
I mostly agree, but anything involving the U.S. Government can be a total clusterfuck. I say there is a good chance some bureaucrat somewhere spilled his coffee on his way to work and decided to be a dick that day.

Why dont they just sneak in through mexico like everybody else? Im sure no one in their right mind is looking in the back of a U-haul headed in from Cuidad Juarez…

For realz? Immigration issues? How many times have they toured the states? Sounds like bullshit to me. They probably sell a ton of tickets, and this is the excuse to just cancel the whole thing.
