Misery Signals participated in a fan Q&A at Absolutepunk.net yesterday, February 07th. During the chat the band had much to share of their forthcoming new album; which they recently began tracking drums for at Trax East in South River, NJ.

They revealed that pre-production for the outing took place with producer Will Putney (Vision Of Disorder, Miss May I). They also mentione that they intend to complete the recording of the album over the course of a number of sessions at different studios in the coming weeks.

Eleven songs in total are expected to appear on the effort; which Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die) has been tapped to mix. Currently the group are without a label and hope to release the album independently late this summer.

I am very happy to see these guys being able to move forward with this album. It is one of those few albums I truly can’t wait for. If a label knew what were good for it, it would sign this band ASAP. Misery Signals are way too good to be unsigned.

    • Glad to hear they are finally in the process of recording a new album. Bummed that they are currently unsigned though. If they are really planning on releasing the album independently they really should have set up a Kickstarter for it. Misery Signals has been gone for quite a while and it would have brought to the attention of fans that they are back and would guarantee that the album would be profitable for them. And I know they (all artists) should just do it because they love music but fuck man these guys are amazing musicians (Mirrors was in my normal rotation for two years) and deserve to make some money off of said talent.

If they were to sign with a label though I’d put money on Razor & Tie…

    • how are they unsigned???? Controller was easily one of the best albums of 2008 and the subsequent tour (of Aus) was amazing. Not to mention Karls side project Solace released an absolute corker. I can’t wait for the new MS album!
