    • AOJB was one of my fav albums growing up, it still stands up as a great record and influenced countless bands. I always loved Jesse’s vocals, followed his other stuff and was so pumped when he rejoined. Having said all this, that sucked and I am pretty disappointed.

I’m really hoping to disagree with you here. I’m 100% with you until the last sentence. Will have to listen as soon as I’m not at work. Was afraid this may happen though. Times Of Grace blew pretty hard. I wish Seemless stuck around. What a great band.

Does anyone ever like anything new posted on this site? That being said, this pretty decent and way better than anything KSE has put out in years. Glad Jesse is back and look forward to the new album.

I like both of Jessie and Howard. Howard can yell/growl better (hence his BHBS days) but I think Jessie is more melodic and sounds better when he sings…don’t get me wrong Howard can sing good but Jessie just sounds better IMO. Either way, they both can write some good lyrics. I’m anxious to hear the rest of the album and a maybe even a possible BHBS one.

    • Enjoyed that more than any material from their last couple of outings but that’s not really saying much. Jesse does a great job vocally (the verses sound brutal) but the drums suck something fierce during the chorus. When he switches from the crash cymbal to the hi-hat you can barely even hear the hi-hat’s and it sounds like he just decided to only hit the snare for a couple of seconds. Tried different speakers and headphones and it just seems like a mixing problem. That said still looking forward to the new album.

With Howard as the frontman KsE was going downhill fast so, fast I deleted the last 2 albums I downloaded because they were not worth the hardrive space. Times of Grace and The Empire Shall Fall on the other hand have remained there.

Howard had a big voice that resonated through you, but Jesse has a voice that entered into your soul. Both are fantastic vocalists, and while Howard will be missed, I have no doubt that Jesse will win over a lot of the naysayers in due time.

don’t really understand all the flack this is getting after reading the comments and listening to it for the first time. sounded pretty powerful to me. I liked Howard sure but I did feel like change was needed after their last effort. Its good to have jesse back. Can’t wait to hear what the rest of the album sounds like, this is a single after all!

I wont judge an entire album or band because of one song. I love this, its fast, heavy and catchy as fuck which is what KSE should be. Im sure other songs on the album will have a chance to showcase Jessies full vocal range. It sounds like the entire band is excited about making music again and thats awesome.

Granted, I’ve only listened to it once; but, this sounds extremely familiar to me. I know, I know, it’s Killswitch – but, come on, they don’t have to give us EXACTLY what we’re expecting. Here’s to hoping that the rest of the album isn’t quite as predictable.

    • I kinda feel like they should hang it up at this point. I got turned on to KSE when they opened up for Vision of Disorder at Valentines in Albany back in 01 a few weeks before AOJB had been released. I loved the way they mixed thrash and hardcore (soon to become metalcore), and I was a huge fan of Jesse and his lyrics. I didn’t think anyone could replace him, but when Howard, from Blood Has Been Shed took his spot, I couldn’t have thought of a better replacement. Unfortunately, In my opinion, everything after TEOH was garbage. As My Farts Linger (great name) previously stated, Howard’s vocals were cringe inducingly whiny after that album. Now everything they release, seems like they’re trying way too hard to recapture a moment in time that has long past. I’m hopeful that Jesse can reignite that flame, but I’ll be waiting with bated breath until I’m proved otherwise. Hopefully, I’m wrong.

I’m just so tired of this band. Used to love them when they first came out, but now the whiny inspirational lyrics do nothing for me. If I was 17, this would get me stoked probably.

They had their time, they just need to hang it up now.
