Good point. I do not have a context for this version of a band named “Chimaira.”

They kept the name to bank of a legacy they are not a part of.

The past matters in metal, and our memories are long.

        • Try and keep an open mind. I’m sure you will enjoy the new shit from them just as much as I will…

The Chimaira beast is alive & well, Chimaira Christmas was a sure indicator of that. Start running your mouths once the album is released & you have some backing.

I couldn’t agree more…and love how you left out La Marca haha. That dude was the only one that was easily replaceable. Rob Arnold was the biggest piece and then Spicuzza and Herrick. Having said that, I think it’s cool Hunter is still making music with the Daath guys and such, I just agree with potato salad man in that it shouldn’t be under the Chimaira name anymore. Way too much has changed. Rob Arnold (cough)

      • Hate all you want, but if you like this version of Chimaira it’s no different than backing Axl and that Franken-Roses monstrosity.

I applaud Hunter sticking to his guns but that doesnt make Chimaira less of a pile of steaming shit nowadays.

Emil Werstler was a primary songwriter for this album, so it’s at least worth giving a listen to. Shouldn’t be released under the Chimaira moniker though.

I love Chimaira, but their last album sucked ass. I’m disappointed both Arnold and Herrick left, but hopefully this will be surprisingly good.
