Poison The Well Drummer Chris Hornbrook Shares His Queens Of The Stone Age ‘Audition’ Video
Drummer Chris Hornbrook (of the sorely-missed outfit Poison The Well) has shared the following footage of his ‘video audition’ for Queens Of The Stone Age. He said of the clip:
“So a good friend of mine was told to round up a group of drummers to video audition for QOTSA with the departure of Joey Castillo. Pretty much as this was being finished up, they apparently picked his replacement; even before I had a chance to submit mine! Bummer. Regardless, it was super fun learning and recording this song.
Enjoy!”

That would have kicked ass.
This would have been rad. A dude from PTW finally getting some of the respect they deserve…
What about Derek? He was in PTW and is now one half of the band Sleigh Bells…Oh you said respect…Nevermind
Basic.
HEY GUYS WURST WOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB. HE WILL BE POSTING HIS VIDEO OF HIS DRUMMING SKILLS SHORTLY TO LET US ALL KNOW HE IS BETTER.
Why is David Draiman bitching at me?
I think he’s getting psycho on your ass WURST or maybe he’s droppin plates on your ass WURST?
He nailed the feel. Go listen to Ray Luz(?) trip through Zeppelin.
rad. He woulda fit perfectly. Who’d they pick?
Dave Grohl came back
Grohl is only doing the studio stuff, so there is still a chance for Chris.
At first I thought he sounded a little too busy on the chorus, but it was just because he was obviously more pronounced in the mix. From what i hear he played it perfectly note for note. He’s an awesome drummer but not as sexy a pick as Dave Grohl.
This guy would add mad flavor to any band. He’s like the Abe Cunningham of hardcore. I just wish PTW would get back together.
not as tight as grohl (or any 12-year old for that matter), but it was still solid and better than Castillo IMO.
You should really stop hanging out with Ian Watkins then!
Mark Castillo is a solid drummer.
So is Randy Casti…oh, wait…nevermind.
What would be cool is if this bummer made him go, “Wow, it be cool to do this again with the rest of the guys.” Then, after several montages involving a trainer, lifting weights and running up a mountain for no reason, Poison the Well comes back.
