Brian “Head” Welch Jams “Blind” With Korn’s Ray Luzier & More At NAMM
Ex-Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch (now of Love And Death) teamed up with current Korn drummer Ray Luzier onstage at this years NAMM event. The pair performed some of Korn‘s “Blind” with George Lynch (Dokken, etc.) on guitars and Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) on bass. Fan-filmed footage of that can be seen below.
As mentioned by Luzier in the below video, Welch will be joining Korn onstage for a series of performances both at home and abroad this year.

That was kind of a misuse of talent. They should have gotten Neil Peart on drums and Placido Domingo on vocals while they were at it.
“Misuse of talent” could pretty much sum up Ray’s career with Korn thus far.
What sucks is I’m not sure how I feel about this. Excited to see that he would be back because that’s Korn (sans David but who cares) but on the other hand bothered by the fact of how he betrayed them for his stupid fairy tale. Musically I want another Head with Korn album and a tour. So no more Brian Welch just Head. He can keep his Jesus with Brian and just put the Head in Korn.
Betrayed them? He was addicted to meth. Think what you want about God, it was what he needed to clean up his life. I wish he’d never left either, but from the stories from both the band and Brian, he was worthless anyway. He’s cleaned up now and it looks like there is a damn good chance of him rejoining the group. I’d say it’s a win/win for the fans.
Who cares if he was addicted to meth? Lot’s of people have been and didn’t a lie to lie to themselves to make themselves feel better. Hell Jonathan Davis was addicted and didn’t use “God” to save himself. He used his own damn mind, because that is all anyone needs. I just hope he could go back to being the old Head get back with Korn and earn his redemption on the stage.

God damn that was rock.
that was terrible. I remember being able to play this song on guitar with my pants off when I was in like sixth-grade (literally at the Downtown Carrollton movie-theater, The Plaza). the fact that these dinosaurs still can’t play it well is quite disconcerting.
not at all bragging that I know that song….if anything I am emphasizing how retarded easy it is on ALL instruments. Ray is an amazing drummer, but there isn’t a pocket anymore when Korn plays. He just goes off and it’s like any improv…it can either be ridiculously cool, or a plane crash (as I believe Jon Theodore described it). More often than not, I find Luzier’s improvisations with Korn to end with the latter of the two results. The tempos are all over the place, there are hesitations with the fills, etc. I’d prefer Silveria or someone else who can just sit back and play the songs. Yao Ming?
That was so bad it gave me a headache. … … a *HEAD* ache. Get it? HEADache. HEAD. Like the guy, HEAD. HEADACHE. But yeah, really sloppy and overall unenjoyable in any way.
Totally left the bassist hanging
