Asking Alexandria Guitarist Likens New Album To A Mix Of Slipknot & Mötley Crüe
Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce has likened the bands forthcoming, and as-yet still untitled, new album to a mix between Mötley Crüe and Slipknot. He recently chatted with Guitar World about it, offering:
“Lyrically, it’s a lot more mature than anything we’ve done before. It’s not so much about partying and fucking random girls and doing drugs and stuff. We’ve actually taken the time to write something that’s truly meaningful to us. The last two records were great, and we loved them, but we were different people then. We were a lot younger and had less experience. When you compare the albums, it will definitely show how much we’ve grown.”
He later continued:
“There’s a lot of heavy riffage on this record, whereas in the past we relied more on rhythms and breakdowns. So in that respect it’s very much like old Slipknot. But then the choruses and a lot of the bridges are more rock-based, which is our Mötley Crüe side.”
“The album is by no means a regurgitation of the eighties. If kids buy this record thinking it’s going to sound like Girls, Girls, Girls, it doesn’t fucking sound like Girls, Girls, Girls. It sounds like Asking Alexandria.”
A release date for the Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure) produced outing has yet to be revealed.

Wow this sounds fucking horrid.
Please, sir, do NOT insult the mighty Crue like that. Asking Alexandria and Motley Crue should never be in the same sentence. Ever.
Not to be that guy, but you just did. I totally agree but I’m just sayin’.
I love Motley Crue and Slipknot and Joey Sturgis(no homo) but if I wanted to hear them, then I would listen to them. Asking Alexandria, you stay away, stay far away.
Do not want.
You guys are acting like you are actually going to hear this band, what are you not going to pick up the cd because of this statement?
