Soundgarden Launch Official Stream Of New Single “Been Away Too Long”
Following yesterday’s leak comes the following official stream of Soundgarden‘s new single “Been Away Too Long“. A digital single for the track will now surface on Friday, September 28th. The group will release their new album “King Animal” on November 13th.

Weak… i’m a die hard SG fan since back in the day, but this song just didn’t do it for me. Despite the tempos, still too shallow and poppy. It lacks EPICNESS…
I’m sure the album will be awesome and have several doses of WIN, though!
This makes me want to find my “Kickstand” shirt from back in high school and rock it all week. I love these guys. This song seems like a safe single…I hope the rest of the album is a little more SG-experimental.

Holy shit I think I still have that shirt. It was green, had a tricycle in the front and said “come stand me up” on the back, right? That was one of my favorite shirts in middle school.

Only things I liked about that vid were the cumulus clouds rolling the whole time. Oh, and posted on it had the name of a band that used to kick serious ass.

Kim Thayil said the album was going to be pretty heavy so ya’ll keep your pants on haha. But either way I feel the album will be kickass with a lot of diverse sounds.
I think this new song is awesome. Cornell’s vocals are a little worn, but Thayil is all over the place on this track. I can’t wait to hear the new album through a good set of speakers.
This track has a “Full On Kevin’s Mom” type of vibe to me which is a good fucking thing.

i like that little guitar kick about half way through but thats about it hope the cd is a good come back and better then alice in chains last cd.
Black Gives Way to Blue is an amazing album, so if this is “better” than that one this should be album of the year.
Got to agree. Black Gives Way is awesome! Lookin In View, is one of AIC ‘s best songs, ALL TIME.
I would not say its bad but to me i can’t sit through many songs on that album, I think lyrically it’s weak. I have faith in a second come back cd.
This is better than the track they put out on the Avengers soundtrack. That one sounded like an Audioslave b-side. This one sounds like Soundgarden. Not AMAZING Soundgarden, but not bad. I think they could play this song after a song like “My Wave” and it would fit right in.
I think this track is gonna take a few more listens for me to dig it. I love the guitar work and originality in it but the singing is just off or something. I didn’t dig the vocals at all. The music however was top notch SG. Hope the rest of the album has better vocal melodies.
