Deftones Play “Leathers” Live For The First Time
The Deftones gave their new song “Leathers” its first live airing in full this weekend. The group performed the recently-released track at last night’s (September 22nd) “Epicenter Festival” in Irvine, CA. You can watch fan-filmed footage of that below. November 13th will see the release of the bands seventh studio album, “Koi No Yokan“.

apparently, that’s an 8 string guitar tuned as low as the next octave of E below a standard E… crazy.

They’ve been using these guitars for 4 albums now. Stephen started playing around with them after he got into meshuggah more like 10 years ago. tracks like beware, when girls telephone boys, you’ve seen the butcher is in G flat, (F#) for fucks sakes. so low. I threw retarded gauge strings on my 6 string gibson, just so i could try out the Diamond Eyes tracks, and it was unreal. lol Haven’t tuned that low since wes’s F# for Nookie back in 1999. lol
