Deep Blue was incredible. I am just wondering, how it came up short? We all are entitled to our opinions, but, I thought that album was one of the best, if not, the best album they produced.

I agree with verse. Hard to explain but it just seemed mediocre at best. The song writing was nowhere near as solid as it was on Horizons and KWAS. Also, some of the riffs were just meh/boring. To each his own.

The album sounded way too mainstream, they admittedly tried to appeal to a larger audience on that record and it probably worked. When Deep Blue cam out no one guessed it was Parkway, doesn’t sound anything like them IMO.

I really have tried so hard to get into these guys, I’m going to give this record a try, but that last one felt like a Poison the Well reject album.

      • I agree. For as much great feedback as I’ve heard about this band, I could never in my life hear them as anything but a slightly better run of the mill metalcore band. Same goes for August Burns Red.

Same here. Gave it a shot and listened to some songs. Put the one up top on and let it roll a few times. The intensity is there but, much like Converge, just can’t get into them like everyone else seems to.
If they did a show nearby I might check them out as one final act of effort. Maybe seeing them live is the puzzle-piece that’s missing.

    • This new song is good, but how can u hate on deep blue that was a great album from start to finish……yea they r a metalcore band thats prob why it sounds like it. Haters….hate on lil wayne, drake and the countless garbage thats on the radio. I wish bands like this could have half the money those scum do……It takes way more talent to do this then that stupid ear killing music

    • Deep Blue was a more mature cerebral and visceral album than their previous. I appreciate that PWD was willing to step away from a traditionally paint by numbers metalcore sound. As far as this track goes, it slays. Don’t sleep on the message.
