Rob Zombie Channeling White Zombie On New Album
Rob Zombie recently told “Revolver” that he is channeling White Zombie on his forthcoming new album. He had the following to say about the opus, which he recently finished tracking with producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper):
“It would be really easy to grind out a traditional ‘Rob Zombie‘ record, but I didn’t want to do that because that’s boring. So I went back to the early days of White Zombie, took some of the wild and insane elements out of that band, and combined it with the skill level we’re at now.
White Zombie was writing stuff that barely made sense. It’s so weird, but it kinda worked. I wanted to bring back some of that oddness and make something really new. We’re making our best record ever. It’s the most alive, raw and crazy thing we’ve ever done.”
An early 2013 release date is being mapped out for the album.

COMMENTS
I’m going to tentatively get partially excited for this album.
Bring back Sean Yseult! Wait… uhh…
I can’t help but be excited for this.
Just make a White Zombie album.
Agreed. Just make another White Zombie album. The new Zombie stuff is good, but WZ was legendary. This year marked the 20th Anniversary of La Sexorcisto, and I was really hoping for a reunion tour, 2015 Astrocreep will turn 20, so lets keep our hopes alive till then!!
Stop channeling, and just bring back the band.
I hope Rob isn’t full of shit. I listened to La Sexorcisto and Astro-Creep 2000 a couple weeks back; first time in a long time.
I would love for Rob to bring back that level of guitar; a blending of heavy grooves and simple but effective noise, it was a wonderful dynamic.
The only problem is I think he may be referring to the albums that came before those two.
I wouldn’t have a problem if he brought that level of rawness to it.
I seriously doubt it’s going to be as he describes. Artists, despite originally making the art, usually don’t have an objective understanding of what they did.
i bet white zombie was killer live but really? this many people really care about rob zombie?
Alot of people give Rob Zombie respect, including myself. Back during the WZ years they were a major cornerstone for metal.
His personal music might suck, but what he did has left a major impact.
Any fan of heavy music needs only to go listen to something like creature of the wheel to be able to respect the effect Rob Zombie has had on heavy music. I have not cared for anything he’s done as a solo artist, but any sort of return to White Zombie would spark an interest for me. I have heard of artists channeling their past, though, and it never tends to work out. Astro-Creep 3000 or 2013 or whatever number makes sense to you, this will not be.
well i can make it through a few songs and its cool but i cannot listen to much, i am sure they did inspired alot and i would grab a ticket if white got back together. i am just suprised that there is this much of a demand.
