Gwar’s Oderus Urungus Rants On New Scumdog Reveal

Gwar frontman Oderus Urungus has taken issue with his “human slave” Dave Brockie‘s recent reveal of the bands new Scumdog. Taking to his Twitter, Urungus stated:

“I don’t know who the hell Brockie thinks he is running his mouth about our new Scumdog but I can tell you this…it’s all lies! Pustulus Maximus? Covered in acne? No, no. He is the most repulsive of the entire Maximus clan. Blue face. Bad acne. NASTY. Shreds though.

It is true that we have had members of the Maximus clan here in our studio, laying tracks on the new album…the Maximus clan is vast… Infecticus, Bubonis, Fartacus, and yes, even Pustulus Maximus were here, laying down killer riffs for our new album. And I suppose it is true that I might not be as “up” on the current members as I would like to be. It took two years to learn Jizmaks name!

But I can’t believe these respected metal sites, known for the quality of their journalism and their unswerving personal ethic would take the words of a lowly GWAR slave on a local RADIO show as the truth, without even consulting me!

Even if everything was true! Our new Scumdog will debut on the “Fate or Chaos” tour, NOT the mini-Sep. And I’m pretty sure he wasn’t at the GWAR-B-Q even though I might have said he was..anybody get what’s going on here yet?”

        • I like the way you just assume everyone on here is in high school. I’m 33 and have always thought GWAR sucked. So no, it’s not an age thing. It’s a you having shitty taste in music thing.

        • Listen, idiot, if I hated every band mentioned I wouldn’t still be coming to this site after 12 years. Aside from Emmure, Limp Bizkit, Gwar and Disturbed who else do I hate? I believe my dislike for said bands is easily justified.

        • I have no problem with anyone on this site. Except for a few people who only show up every few months with asinine bullshit, everyone is cool.

Well, it seems as if you go out of your way to click on an article or video for bands you don’t like and make some pompous comment about it. So I guess I asked the wrong question.

I also hate Emmure, Limp Bizkit, and Disturbed. so I guess I can agree with you there, but if I were to see a topic on this site about one of those bands, I’d just simply pass by, because I have no interest in it.

I was new here once and I was using the same logic you have now, the point is it doesn’t matter if someone on this website hates on a band, because we basically have the same 15-20 people commenting on EVERY post, the PRP isn’t a place where you meet new people every day, therefor all the regulars post their opinions on every post on every band. Also this website has a very limited audience, if all Bizkit haters didn’t hate on Bizkit threads it would have 0 comments…

        • No shit. Cancer Bats are the shit, and they destroy live. Probably the ugliest band in heavy music, so they have plenty of aggression to draw from. No going soft any time soon.

      • I mean, I’ll admit I don’t like Gwar. Never have. The first time I heard of them was when I saw Empire Records when I was in middle school. Funny novelty, but the music never grabbed me. However I don’t hate Gwar. Goddamn, dude, I think 41 thumbs down in a record.

    • Depends on the era, but they amuse me for the most part. Not something I listen to every day, but something I’ll put on occasionally.

Hell-O – America Must Be Destroyed were their best years. The mid-late 90s were pretty terrible, and since Violence Has Arrived, they’ve gotten better. Bloody Pit of Horror might have been their best release yet.

Gwar’s music isn’t the greatest but it fits well with their image and stage show. They’re a novelty but they’re a fucking awesome novelty and I refuse to talk shit about them.

GWAR has always been a personal favorite of mine. Ever since I was little and I found out about them on the Beavis and Butthead Video game on the Sega Genesis, I enjoyed them.

So are you the pot or the kettle in this situation? I can’t think of a thread on this site where you haven’t chimed in about someone having shitty taste in music. Some of the shit you rave about I’ve thought of as absolute tripe, and it’s become clear through the years that you thoroughly enjoy exercising the rights handed down to you by the mighty deities of the interwebz to express your opinion in a public forum, no matter how inane, but it’s getting old, dude. Lighten up.

Pantys in a wad? I was just asking you a question. I was pretty much trying to figure out if you’re basically the scrooge of this website. Just a pissed off bitter person who’s motto basically goes like this: “Stop liking what I don’t like!!”

GWAR’s always been my ALL-TIME favorite band growing up… Sure there’s heavier more grotesque shit being produced but they’ve ALWAYS stayed true to their fanbase (period)! In hanging with Dave Brockie, I’ve found an extremely large percentage of their earnings go to the upkeep of equipment & making their performances all around FUN for the fans. This to me is a worthwhile cause & band! Their music is campy and humorous, sure! But sometimes it’s nice to take a break from the norm & do something different & even corny & stupid sometimes. They are amazingly talented/intelligent musicians with a sense of humor about them whom actually give a shit.
