Terror Cancel Czech Republic Show In Support Of Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe
Terror have canceled their August 20th show in Ostrava, Czech Republic this month as a show of support for imprisoned Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe. The band issued the following statement regarding that:
“TERROR is going to cancel their show in the Czech Republic this month. We feel obligated to stand up for Randy Blythe. This situation seems to be taken too lightly. Randy comes from punk and hardcore roots, just like TERROR. He still supports underground music and has always supported TERROR– even singing on stage alongside us when we play Richmond. This hits really close to home for us having members of the band and our crew from the hometown of LAMB OF GOD.
We love our Czech fans very much and have amazing shows there, but we need to ‘stick tight’ to our friend Randy, which is why we have chosen to cancel the show. As a band that could easily be in this same position at any given show, we don’t think we can play there and act like this is OK – it isn’t.
This is bigger than a hashtag or a clever t-shirt– we as a community need to take action and speak up. Free Randy Blythe.”

Wouldn’t it make more of a statement to go there, raise a lot of Hell, and have the crowd chanting “Free Randy” on camera? It would send the same message without punishing those fans and may get them to question their system. What they’re doing isn’t wrong nor does it appear to have been done callously. However, you get more done inside screaming than outside blogging.
As noble of a show of support that is, if I was a band playing a show in the Czech Republic I’d be cancelling for different reasons. Like not wanting to be arrested and held in a Czech jail if someone happened to die at my show. I’m sure that was in Terror’s mind as well.
ya jay i completely agree with you. any band hardcore or metal or anything like that should be worried playing the czech republic period.and it sucks for fans there but maybe those are the people who should stand up and say this is bullshit and what about bouncers at any venue there, shouldnt they be partly responsible as well. as a fan and it sucks to say this but any “interactive ” band should boycott all of the czech republic period and only based on the situation now especially

Way more people jump stage at hardcore shows than at metal shows and the Terror dudes don’t want to suffer the same fate as Randy. Faux-activists.
They’re punishing their own fans, what a bunch of dinguses.
what if all the metal/hardcore bands pooled together and boycotted playing in Czech. imagine that.
They’re not accomishimg anything besides being dicks to their fans from there.
i still raise the fact of “why didnt this kind of situation been brought to attention in 2010 when this all happened? they seriously waitred until lamb of god came back there?( the kid was proven to be all around the place that night and he didnt die til 2 weeks later!!!!whos to say what happened in that time? but one thing for sure is he was not taken away from that concert that night all fucked up!!!!!that is a fucking fact and there holding randy now cus his band is big and cus they can. i hate to even say this but for fuck sake, even the american embassy should be involved with this by now.dead serious. all of us need to start contacting our local congressmans with abundance no matter where you are. were the strongest fucking country in the world, lets make our representatives take action period. ill be the first one, my name is bryan martell, 48 blueberry hill st. springfield, mass. 01128. this whole message just got forwarded to my local congressman. i f we can all do that, then we can fucking do something and make our fucking governe\ment do there job. wether you believe it can happen or not, it would take you 2 minutes to write an email about it and send it to your local congressman, eventually they will listen.thats a true way to show support for this fucking travesty of justice.
I agree with Mertdiggie. You’re basically just punishing the fans using this method; go after the real culprit.
