Roadrunner Records’ Senior VP Of A&R Steps Down
Roadrunner Records‘ Senior Vice President Of A&R Monte Conner has now officially exited the label. Conner worked at Roadrunner for over 20 years and was responsible for signing countless influential artists on the labels roster; including Slipknot, Machine Head, Sepultura, Rush, Gojira, Death and many more.
Conner‘s departure from Roadrunner Records comes as a result of this years cost-cutting moves by parent label, Warner Music Group.

Did he leave because he was getting the boot or offered a soft boot via severance package, did he leave because he is going elsewhere and is unhappy with all RR’s recent cuts, or is he out of the game totally? That dude signed so many bad ass metal bands. I read a couple interviews with him over the years and he sure is an icon in the metal community.
Probably going elsewhere I’m sure. He knows how fast the ship is sinking because he’s in it, not a bystander from the shore like we are.
