Pantera‘s installment in the Rhino Records “Original Album Series” will now land in U.S. stores on September 11th. The 5-CD set was previously-released in the UK late last year and features five of the bands albums housed in mini-LP sleeves.
Outings featured in package include: “Cowboys From Hell“, “Vulgar Display Of Power“, “Far Beyond Driven“, “The Great Southern Trendkill” and “Reinventing The Steel“.
Previous participants in the ”Original Album Series” line of legacy reissues include the likes of Ministry and Faith No More.

Wow. This five album set is like $20 on amazon. Rhino used to be notorious for reissuing albums with a second disc of outtakes/demos and charging twice what the album alone would cost. Guess they realized why they were losing money and learned to adapt.
Just checked it out and it is only 20 bones. I might just scoop it up for the hell of it.
Enough with reissuing the same albums over and over again. Didn’t Vulgar Display already get a reissue this year? Cowboys last year? If they wanna do a reissue on something, make the pre-Cowboys Pantera albums widely available to those that want to complete their Pantera collection.
You don’t want any of those but “Power Metal”, trust me. Besides, Cowboys was a “remastered” version, and I use that term loosely because the only thing different was a little more treble.
That would be pretty cool. Hearing Dimebag’s formative years on vinyl (or even some compiled mp3 that isn’t the shitty rips) would be interesting. The vocals are pure 80′s cheese but the riffing is great.
I saw this in a Hastings right here in good ole America last year, so I bought it. What the hell.
