Muse Explain Dubstep Influence On New Album “The 2nd Law”

It would appear that Skrillex is to blame for Muse‘s dubstep excursion on their new song “The 2nd Law: Unsustainable“. The bands drummer Dom Howard recently told NME.com:

“We went to see Skrillex in Camden around October. We went, ‘Fuck, it’s so heavy,’ loved it. I was like a full metal gig, they had circles of death, people were moshing, I hadn’t seen a reaction like that to electronic music before. We took inspiration and came up with ‘The 2nd Law: Unsustainable‘.”

The groups new album “The 2nd Law” is due out in the bands native UK on September 07th.

        • The last album sucked, I saw this coming. Not the dub-step part, but the sucking part. First three albums were awesome, but with Black Holes, even though it was good you saw that they might go a little far. Same thing happened to Coldplay, first two albums, outstanding, third one was good but you saw a chance that they may be going in a direction you might not like. They staved it off a bit with an ok 4th album (though I hate the song Viva La Vida), but the newest album, trash.

This makes sense because every great band always follow trends. I heard the new Neurosis is gonna combine Djent and dubstep. Djentstep is the next step in music evolution.

Muse doesn’t have to explain the dubstep influence on their new album. I can explain it for them………………… $.
