Lamb Of God, Dethklok & Gojira Tour Officially Cancelled
The planned Lamb Of God, Dethklok and Gojira summer tour has officially been cancelled. The following press release was issued on the matter earlier today (July 26th):
“ADULT SWIM STATEMENT REGARDING UPCOMING TOUR:
In light of circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour has been canceled. Refunds will be available to customers who already purchased tickets through their point of purchase. We thank Dethklok fans for their continued support and look forward to releasing information about the band’s upcoming third album and a planned fall tour in the coming weeks.

LAMB OF GOD STATEMENT REGARDING UPCOMING TOUR:
Due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band’s co-headline tour with Dethklok scheduled to begin August 1st in Seattle is being cancelled. The band regrets the decision but the uncertainty of Randy’s release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy’s release, it is the band’s intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December.
LAMB OF GOD wishes to thank Dethklok, Adult Swim and Gojira for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour. Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague. Without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD.”

Well, there goes my whole reason for going to Day1 of Heavy TO. We are watching a huge human rights violation unfoid right in front of our eyes. Hang in there Randy, you have a huge fan/support base behind you.
Fuck those who put thumbs down. Regardless of whether a guy is bummed that you might miss LOG for an upcoming show you ought to be able to empathize for the current injustice RB is going through. I’m pissed as shit that I won’t get the wall of death at Knotfest too but I’m far more upset about the dipshit “justice” system in the Czech rep. Much as I tend to consider RB a misguided fuck-tard he doesn’t deserve what he’s been going through this last month. Again, Fuck you very much on the two thumbs down, FREE RANDY!
I put a thumb down for the phrase “human rights violation”. Women having their clitorises forcibly removed is a human rights violation. The Syrian army firing on civilians is a human rights violation. The Iranian secret police arresting & torturing political dissidents is a human rights violation. Randy Blythe being falsely imprisoned is just that false imprisonment. Unless he’s been treated inhumanely while in custody I don’t think the phrase “human rights violation” applies here.

Okay. Human Rights Violation is the wrong phrase. But having someone pony-up $200,000 and then saying “Uh…we can’t let you out. Give us another $200,000 and we MAY let you out” is definitely a violation of something! Let’s hope he’s being treated humanely in the prison.
