Parkway Drive Tracking New Album In Los Angeles, CA
Parkway Drive recently entered Sunset Lodge Recording Studio in Los Angeles, CA to begin tracking their new album. Producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed) has been overseeing the sessions for the effort.
Speaking with Altpress.com, band frontman Winston McCall offered the following on the sound of the effort:
“…With the atmospheric stuff on this record, there’s so much more layering, and so much more depth to it. But the heavy stuff… I’m saying all these things about “new elements,” and people are probably thinking that it’s going to be soft, but the heavy stuff on this record is so stupidly heavy, it’s ridiculous.
I think when the first single drops, people will realize that Parkway haven’t gone backwards in terms of heaviness. Our playing has improved, too. Even the simplest stuff—when it comes down to just the four elements of guitar, bass, drums and vocals—all of that has been taken to a degree that’s way, way more advanced than anything we’ve done in the past.”
Release details have yet to be revealed.

I still listen to Deep Blue all the time, I was literally at the gym an hour ago just tearing the place up listening to it, love these guys.
didn’t think it was a good album at all so hopefully this next one surpasses it. Horizons was the tits though…
Agreed. Horizons rips, Deep Blue does not.
I’m hopeful they dial in the production on this one. The guitars on Deep Blue sound awesome but the drum production has so much bass that it sounds muffled and overbearing. Horizons is a great album but the drums sound almost programed and the guitars sound digital as balls. The band definitely rips. I’m waiting for their new blu ray to come in the mail! Oh, and please more guttural vocals, Winston. My phone rig has been the breakdown from the Sirens Song for about three years – does it make you feel sick? Oh, I better answer that before the phone breaks down, yo!
Parkway Drive blows fat, sweaty, slightly curved black cock. They’re about as generic as a metal band can be.
I don’t like Parkway Drive, but I don’t bitch about it either.
word.
No, you just bitch about me bitching.
Shut the fuck up, Wurst. All you do is bitch.
I havent bitched in days. All I did was agree with the dude. Go jerk off and chill out.
Just jerked off. Wasn’t the best, I’d say about average. I was able to at least hit my chin.
‘at a boy! you get some of that brianna banks action?
No, some tranny with a massive schlong.
gotta love this band. good honest metal core. anxious to hear where the band’s sound goes from deep blue. very well written album, although the production seemed lackluster at times.
I rember seeing these guys ripping it up at the Byron Bay youth center tiny crowds, Winston on the floor doing his thing, so much energy. Now they are doing it round the world to huge crowds and the only thing thats changed is their skill improving. I cant wait to hear what they have learnt since deep blue and continue to do in years to come.
Fuckin’ aye cunt. I remember seeing them do the same in Sommerville with Carpathian support. It really makes me happy to see at least some Aussie bands do the hard yards whilst actually being good! Really interested to hear what these cunce come up with after deep blue.
Aussie Aussie Aussie!
ps: I’m smashed. Far too many carlton draughs this evening bois! I do appologise for any obnoxiousness!
Bad ass, dude! Nothing better than have a few then ripping it on theprp. Yo, your shows in Australia look damn insane. I’d love to see PWD there hahahah!
