Disturbed’s David Draiman: “All Of Us Have Been Very Defensive/Cautious Of Anyone Jumping Up On Stage”
Disturbed‘s David Draiman recently shared his thoughts on the arrest of Lamb Of God‘s Randy Blythe in a roundabout way. Draiman was recently asked by a Twitter user how he felt about Blythe “slaughtering” a fan. On that, Draiman replied:
“HE DIDNT “SLAUGHTER” ANYONE. THE KID JUMPED ON STAGE AND STARTED A BRAWL, AND RANDY DEFENDED HIMSELF, THAT HIS LIFE WAS LOST–IN THE PROCESS IS TRULY UNFORTUNATE, BUT, RANDY IS MY FRIEND AND HES NO MURDERER I FEEL FOR THE CHILD AND FOR THE FAMILY AND FOR RANDY, BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT EVER SINCE DIMEBAG DARRYL WAS–ASSAULTED, SHOT, AND MURDERED ON STAGE BY A “FAN”, ALL OF US HAVE BEEN VERY DEFENSIVE/CAUTIOUS OF ANYONE JUMPING UP ON STAGE IM NOT SAYING THAT IT’S OK, OR JUSTIFIED, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. ONLY THAT IT’S AN UNFORTUNATE/TRAGIC SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES–AND THAT I KNOW RANDY’S INTENTION WAS NOT TO KILL THE KID. THAT’S MY OPINION. I’VE HEARD YOURS. THAT IS ALL.”

The Caps Lock Bandit strikes again. We have a couple leads but nothing substantial.
Leads, yeah. I’ll just check with the boys down at the Crime Lab. They’ve assigned four more detectives to the case, got us working in shifts. Ha ha ha, leads…
Wouldn’t hold out much hope for the tape deck.
What about the Creedence?
word on the street its a large ugly bald lesbian with gaged ears and bondage pants
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT MUCH NEEDED OPINION DAVE!
I DON’T KNOW WHY WE’RE YELLING!?
I can tell these two are friends. David is a condescending pretentious douchebag with no respect for any of his fans, who I feel sorry for if he still has any left. They should be playing the Gathering. Faggots.
LOUD NOISES!
Sigh… I wish David Draiman was arrested for manslaughter.
FUCKING ALL CAPS. CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME.
This dude…
I see he’s misusing dashes now.
Matt Damon
i like the conjecture that the kid jumped on stage and started a “brawl”. interesting that nobody recalled that except Draiman — they just don’t rememember.
and again, since when is stagediving something that doesn’t happen at virtually every metal show ever? this is just like those stupid documentaries on moshing that try to make it sound like some dated thing that happened in the 90s that nobody does anymore.
HE HAS HEARD YOUR OPINION NOW HE IS STATING HIS
For some reason, and this really bothers me, but every time this dude tweets something like this, I think of what it must be like for the chicks he fucks. Or chick, or whatever… you know he makes that “Down With The Sickness” noise. There’s just no way around it.
Your post makes no sense. We all know he fucks dudes not chicks.
OOOOOH -WA-WA-WA-WA. someone get this guy a kleenex and a pacifier.
When I hear those noises he makes, I always picture a monkey flinging poop around.
this whole “dime bag died” thing is bullshit…..A) IF I WANT TO SHOOT U I CAN DO IT FROM THE FRONT ROW B) why does one nutty fan ruin it for the rest of the metal fans? all that poor dude seemed to be trying to do was enjoy a metal concert. what the fuck randy what kind of music u think u play? polka? how can u play music where u act like ur tough shit but when a young kid trys crowd surfing u get pissed like a little bitch i for one would be happy some dude made it past security and was enjoying my show..
more importantly, how come dudes didn’t start mentioning that they’re wary of crazy fans jumping on stage “because of Dimebag” until this shit happened? I love how all these testosterone-driven dudes are suddenly pussies who are scared of their fans.
let’s just tell the truth, giant metal-egoes are irritated by crowd surfing because they think it takes the focus off of them, and the majority of these big metal dudes are just grown up singularity kids who want everyone to be looking at them all the time.
Your comments never make any sense. You should really read over your comments before you post them.
u know for a dude that ‘invented” the wall of death he seems pretty touchy about having a few stage divers
@Wurst, smart people understand my comments.
Southpaw…I’m not quite sure he “invented” it. I can recall seeing the wall of death thing during a Chimaira set on one of the “Pass Out Of Existence” tours. Cant recall seeing LoG do this until the end of the “Ashes” tours. Either way, its whatever.
I kinda tend to agree with you here. It really seems like a lot of people have never been to an Dillinger Escape Plan show!
“THAT IS ALL”. Hahaaa!
Wasn’t that enlightening? There not really friends, whole thing’s a ploy for David to gain credibility amongst a wider metal audience.
