Anthrax’s Scott Ian Speaks On The Arrest Of Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian recently addressed the Randy Blythe situation via his Twitter. Speaking to Testament‘s Alex Skolnick, he offered:

“re Randy… Complete and utter bullshit for him to be treated like a criminal for something he didn’t do. Now fans can see first hand why there’s no stage diving any more. Especially in the post-Darrell world we live in. It’s all fun and games until people get murdered, die and get arrested

Randy didn’t cause that fans death. That fan chose his path. People need to take responsibility for their actions no matter what the consequence.”

I’m no lawyer, but if Randy put his hands on the guy, he’s in big trouble. Plus, laws are different in other countries. People jump on stages all the time, and even years after Dimebag’s death. I see it all the time. Regardless what me, or the fans, or Scott Ian thinks…if he pushed the kid, he’s liable. Unless the kid was throwing fists at Randy, that would be the only way he’ll get away with it. Sorry to say.

Well, you were right about one thing, you’re definitely not a lawyer. You can’t say that different countries have different laws (which of course implies that you do not know the laws of this particular country) and then assert that he would only get away with it if the kid were throwing fists at him. The fact of the matter is, you don’t know and neither do I. In fact, no one (even in their self-righteous glory) on this site knows what the outcome of this will be. So, let’s just shut up and wait to see what happens.

personally enjoying all these bands coming out and talking like stagediving is suddenly something that doesn’t still happen all the time because they’re clearly afraid of hurting people. tragedy creates the world’s most effective short-term memory loss, i swear.

Why dosent Randy take responsibility for his actions. how much of a pussy is Scott Ian that he use dimebag death as an excuse to push some one of a fucking stage. if the fan had a gun why would he go to that person it sounds like randy douchniss caught up with him. Randy can go FUCK HIM SELF. he is another Axle Rose. a fucking disappointment.

if bands are afraid of people jumping on stage maybe they have security stop it. ive seen lamb of god seven times they have their own personal security guy. why because randy likes to talk shit about people in our military and people have expressed opinions of killing him. my point being this band travels with their own security. he is a roidid out six foot five big as mother fucker ya cant miss him

I can imagine him in court speaking to the Judge thru an interpreter:

‘Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward….”. Lawyers leaping out of their seats “NO RANDY NO!” ;)

It’s not this twat’s job to get people off the stage, it’s the security’s. If he pushed the kid, and he later died because of it…that’s manslaughter, or at least involuntary manslaughter. If he was unhappy about people being on stage he should have stopped the show and had some words with security.

And I agree it’s a fucking cop out to use Dimebag’s shooting as an excuse to say ‘hey, we feel threatened, we can do what the fuck we want up there”.

If RB pushed the kid and he died, he’s guilty and I hope he gets punished for it to the full extent of the law. At least then I won’t have to suffer anymore of his terrible lyrics.
