Goddamn, that sounds fucking fantastic! I cannot wait to hear the rest of this album now. I think it’s going to be one of the best metal releases of the year.

Is it my ears or are the vocals not sitting in the mix very well? They don’t have the same space the music does, and seem loud. Sonic quality aside, this song is pretty badass. Always loved Testament.

Have Testaments vocals always sounded like this? I haven’t listened to a lot of them, but his voice is annoyingly reminiscent to the d-bag from 5 Finger Donkey Punch.

The dynamic of the band changed a lot though, it’s always been the same vocalist.

First four albums are classic bay area thrash and are essentials in any metal collection.

94-99 is hit or miss for some people. The vocals got deeper, music was more brutal, and was a decent change of pace compared to what other Thrash bands turned into. I love these albums too but I know what you mean, the vocals aren’t as enjoyable and more importantly Alex Skolnick is not on leads.

I don’t want to comment on the new album before I hear it all but ever since they got Alex back, they have returned to form. I expect this album to be great.

No, he used to sing lower and less clear. Closer to Nathan Explosion or Cryptopsy’s singer on “and then you’ll beg.” Fuck Knuckle Fruit Punch wishes that on a good day, they could sound like Testament.

          Yea it does, Devout.

I’m beyond bored with metal vocals. Good vocalists, that can actually sing and still sound “mean” are few and far between. Don’t get me wrong, screaming/growling certainly has it’s place, I just think it’s WAY overdone these days.

Woah, bad ass song, Testament is one of the only bands that have consistent quality with their albums, TFoD could of been better but it was there album after like 8 years. This is going to absolutely kick ass.

Hoglan is money. Bostaph is sweet except when he was in Slayer….it just wasn’t right.

After a few more listens I feel like this sounds like a perfect blend of their Skolnick era albums with some definite brutal moments you’d find on Low, The Gathering, exc.

I love the vocals and I’m sure there will be plenty of tracks that remind you of the old Chuck Billy along with the more brutal side. I cant wait for this shit.
