I like SOAD but this song is such a load of New Age bullshit. Science isn’t a belief system. It’s the study of reality. You can “let the reigns go” all you want, but you still exist in this universe. Lucky for SOAD that the scientists and engineers that built the knowledge and technology to enable them to record and distribute this song didn’t take the universe on “faith.”
Agreed. BOO did a great job covering this song, though.
“The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”
- Benjamin Franklin
I’m pretty sure the song wasn’t anti-science.
You have an odd way of interpreting the lyrics then.
You have an odd way of interpreting SOADs sarcasm.
Really? What, in those lyrics, suggests sarcasm to you?
Pretty much all of the lyrics are blatantly sarcastic. With that said, science has most definitely failed our mother earth.
So you hear the song as sarcasm, but also, not?
Saying science failed “mother” earth is like saying algebra failed a lake.
Calm damn, you numbskulls.
obviously these dudes are fans of SOAD and probably did this for fun. It’s pretty fucking awesome if you ask me, but I already know there’s gonna be waves of douche bags ready to rip on them for even trying.
I saw the full set of SOAD at rock in Rio and before science he went on this huge tirade on how humans were the scum of the earth blah blah blah, Serj we want to hear you play not rant, still I’m so excited to see them at the Verizon center.
Humans are the scum of the earth, my friend.
Humans are parasites to the earth.
The earth belongs to the prokaryotes.
i love system. i love BOO. other than the keyboard parts, this sounded terrible. i don’t think any less of BOO yet.
btw, the new chelsea grin is pretty badass…
I like how they tried to break up the pattern that the song tended to follow. I hate that it sounds musically lifeless. When you shout BOO’s name it’s still just BOO!
BOO might have talent but this cover sucks. however, I think BOO suck anyway. but these two “sucks” have nothing in common with one another
