As I Lay Dying Release Free Download Of New Single “Cauterize”
As I Lay Dying have debuted their new single “Cauterize” online via their official website, Asilaydying.com. The song will be available for free for a 24 hour period, after which it will be released through digital retailers tomorrow, June 26th. The groups new album “Awakened” is slated for a September 25th release date through Metal Blade.

The chorus is one of main problems I have with the song, and the Breakdown during the bridge which was just random.

On that note, it’s better than all three of the new originals on Decas. I liked “Paralyzed” okay, but the other two didn’t do much.
That’s because those other two songs are rehashes from their unreleased first album, the ones that’s on the album “A Long March”

Apart from the music, I have to say that I really like this “free download” approach. You have to keep in mind that e.g. Victory Records would have put this up on iTunes, charging $1.29 for one song.

I really dig this song. Reminds me of something I’d hear on An Ocean Between us (which happens to be my fav AILD album).
Honestly it does sound like something from an ocean between us mixed with the clean choruses off their b sides. I’m honestly a tad disappointed…. I feel like they rushed into this album a bit
