Metallica Perform “Escape” Live For The First Time At “Orion Music + More Festival”
Last night (June 23rd) saw Metallica perform their 1984 album “Ride The Lightning” in full, albeit backwards. The set also marked the first ever live performance of the album track, ”Escape“. The show took place as part of the bands own ”Orion Music + More Festival“. The set was live broadcast with footage of “Escape” available below:

I think this is their most underrated song of their entire catalog. Plus it’s got a great anthem like singalong at the end of the track. I really think they should have played this song a heckuva lot more throughout the years.
I have a live version of Metallica doing Escape from the late 80′s, in Sweden (I think), Kirk covered the Charlie Brown theme music during his guitar solo. I’ll have to dig it out and dust it off.
In my early metal years I became obsessed with finding a live version of each of their studio tracks.
Now that I think about it, it may not be the full song, but they definitely played some of it.
