I was looking forward to this album ever since last year! can’t fucking wait, I seriously think that Testament should be a part of the big 4 and not Anthrax.

Testament were way too late to the party and weren’t nearly as influential as Anthrax. Likewise, Testament didn’t add anything new to the formula of the big 4 that earns them a spot there. Metallica had songwriting, Megadeth had technical prowess, Slayer had the balls to the wall sound of Satan on their side, and Anthrax brought an entirely new punchy East Coast hardcore element into their brand of thrash. Testament merely took some of these formulas and in a way perfected a few of those sounds into their own about 5 years later.

They originally formed in 1983 as “Legacy” and started out as a thrash band, everyone in the big 4 was inspired by Metallica, I also think it’s blasphemous not to have exodus in the big 4 but it makes sense due to the wobbly line up of members, although I do love the modernized feel to Anthrax’s songs.
