Oh hell yeah, KsE has a date for Meadow Brook the day after Battle Creek. My 2.5 hour drive each way just turned into a 20 minute drive each way.

There is so much wrong with this line-up that it’s almost impossible to sort out. I’d rather just wait ’til KSE have a new album out and tour behind it to see Jesse’s triumphant return.

FFDonkeyP, Emmure and fucking Pop Evil? Three bands I have zero respect for. Sorry KsE, I’ll catch your new/old lineup on the winter headlining run.

Thank you. Worst post-grunge band out today (and that’s a bold fucking statement). It sucks so much ass living in the same town as that band.

Every time one of my friends asks me to go to a Pop Evil concert, I reply, “I’m sorry, but I can’t be seen at a Pop Evil concert. I have a reputation to protect.” Then they look at me like I’m an asshole and don’t call me to hang out as often. Oh well. Pop Evil fans aren’t really friends to begin with.

I’ve only heard their stuff on the WRIF, but what I’ve heard isn’t bad when it comes to radio-rock. I prefer Pistol Day Parade (from what I’ve heard), though. Caught them at a local festival, not bad live either.

To each their own I suppose. I don’t know how much Pop Evil gets played on the other side of the state, but I’ve been beat to death with it here. I don’t like the music at all, but it is pretty much standard radio rock, only a bit more watered down. The lyrics are what really annoys me about the band. It’s almost remarkable how many cliches they can piece together in one song.

So you won’t be the Last Man Standing? I’m not supposed to like that song now as it was used for UM Football, but even as a rival I’ll still root for ‘em.

Ha. My personal favorite is “I can’t breathe when I’m suffocating.” Well no shit.

Did you hear the U of M fight song they made? Ugh. Atrocious, and as someone that attends a Division II school, I say that with no bias.

Nice area, although I was very disappointed in The Bob. They wouldn’t let me in the top level because I was wearing Etnies. Founders is nice even if I’m pretty much a puss when it comes to beer and I don’t like a lot of the strong exotic stuff, and I’ve only been to two strip clubs in my life but that one with the silhouette cutouts north of the city is the most depressing place I’ve ever been to in my life. GVSU needs to move up to at least FCS, same with Wayne State (just based on enrollment). I start up again in the fall, this time at MSU.

Yeah with 25,000 students, it’s not exactly a small school. And fuck the BOB. The restaurants are decent but Dr. Grins is the only club in the place I can tolerate. All strip clubs here suck balls because of the citywide titty ban, but you’re right, Parkway Tropics is particularly nasty. I would recommend Little Darlings in Kzoo. I was just there for my little bro’s bachelor party and there is nothing you can’t get away with in that place.

MSU is a good school. I plan on going there if and when I pursue my PhD. The only reason I stuck with GVSU is because my daughter is in West Michigan. My program is really good though, it’s cheaper and GVSU is a pretty reputable school, so I can’t complain too much.

    • Maybe this tour is a sign of what we will hear from the new KsE. I guess by heavier they meant rotation on the radio. Sad when you finally accept a band not making an album as good as their “classic”. This goes for Ks and Trivium.

      • Or maybe Killswitch just wants to broaden their fanbase and play for bigger crowds. Trivium does the same and tours with acts musically they are nothing alike.

First time I saw Killswitch was Taste of Chaos 2005:

          The Used
          My Chemical Romance
          Killswitch Engage
          Senses Fail
          Underoath
          A Static Lullaby

I’m planning on this, for two reasons and two reasons only. To see Jesse Leech’s return to Killswitch Engage, and Battlecross. Those guys thrash, everything else i could take or leave. Sounds like an outdoor festival type summer show.

Let’s face it folks, since Jesse left the band KSE has been doing whatever they possibly can to get paid. Can’t say I blame them, their sound is quite marketable…. Can’t say I will go see them though, (not that they care) because they are constantly playing with terrible popular “heavy” metal bands that are also on the fringe on “making it”.

I hope that when they do actually headline a tour, they bring some decent bands out with them, or do a co-headlining thing with LOG or Shadows Fall or some shit like that. If they pull the same bullshit in the Fall, that would just piss me right off.
