Previously-Unreleased Dimebag Darrell Abbott Track “Twisted” Available
Revolvermag.com have word that a previously-unreleased song written and performed entirely by late Pantera, etc. guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott has arrived online. The track, titled “Twisted“, was released in collaboration between Elephant Brand Skateboards (owned by skater/musician Mike Vallely) and Dimebaghardware.com.
It comes in support of a new “Dimebag” tribute skateboard (see the above Elephant Brand link) and can be purchased at Cdbaby.com and through iTunes. Also available below is a music video for “Twisted” which was filmed at Abbott and Rita Haney‘s Dalworthington Gardens, Texas home, “The Fortress”.
Haney had the following to say about the track:
“This little ditty is one Dime created after we moved into the hut in DWG, Texas–Darrell triumphantly referred our home as ‘The Fortress.’ It was just before his 30th birthday in July of ’96–hence the line, ‘I lived the lives of a million men/Yet I ain’t even 30 years old.’ When we were selecting a song for the video, ‘Twisted’ was the first that came to mind and, after seeing what Eric and Stone Hendrikx captured on video, it was the perfect song and vibe—100 percent Dime-style!”
One of my fondest memories was when Darrell played me the song for the first time and he said, ‘Did ya catch it? You went Gold!’ He was referring to the last chorus where he sings, ‘Can you feel me in your soul? I’ve been by your side for 10 long years and I ain’t even 30 years old, no!’ I still have the biggest smile on my face every time I hear it!!!”

God I want that guitar collection. It was a little hard to tell from the video but I bet the door to that room is akin to a bank vault.
The Abbott brothers’ homes are literally a mile from me, so fucking awesome. That’s the thing I loved most about the Abbott brothers. They made countless millions yet still lived in the same town they grew up in. They didn’t need a mansion on ten acres. Keepin’ it real.
That’s pretty rad dude. As far as the mansion thing goes…eh, it’s all preference. Doesn’t make ya counterfeit if ya choose to get the fuck out of your shitty infested town of jerkoffs who honk their way to work every morning…I’d live in a gated abode where nobody can take my shit, haha. Fuck everybody. They’re all gonna wannna try to be friends with you and get some money from ya in some fashion. Bottom line. I would not be concerned about whether or not I’m keepin’ it real, lol.
