Venue For Columbus, OH Date Of Behemoth, Watain, Etc. Tour Moved Due To Conflicting Beliefs
The April 11th Columbus, OH kick-off date of Behemoth‘s “Decibel Magazine Tour” with Watain, The Devil’s Blood and more has changed venues due to conflicting religious beliefs.
Apparently the owners of the originally booked venue (The Brewmaster’s Gate) forbid the bands from playing due to their satanic ideals. The show has since been moved to the Alrosa Villa on the same date.
Behemoth‘s Nergal offered:
“Wow, big motherfuckin’ WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we are playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…”

Fuck Ohio.
There’s no way I could get it up for Ohio.
Damn. I’m sorry my people in my town are being douche bags. Fuck the Brewery District and the Alrosa Villa (absolute shithole by the by). This show should have been moved to the Ace of Cups of Outland.
*or Outland
Come to Michigan instead bro… we love Satan!
Fuck ALL you bible banging credulous bigot freaks, also a big FUCK YOU goes out to Alrosa Villa.
RIP Dime
Religion will be the death of this planet.
So are the letters “K” and “Z” supposed to make it more satanic or are these guys just illiterate morons?
They’re from Poland.
6 flags pulled this shit for an ozzfest when manson was suppose to play shit id rather have a bunch of satanist’s in my venue then a bunch of hood kids listening to rap.
Does anybody else think Nergal sounds like a fuckin tool bag? I’ve never read anything he has said and not felt that way. I mean, in this case I agree with him but still…. And another thing, Behemoth is fucking overrated man. Yea, their live show is pretty cool, but their music is subpar in my opinion. Ok the drumming is sick, but Nergal aint that good of a musician.
In reading the majority of your posts, I can totally relate to how you feel.
I can’t recall anything else I’ve read from him, but he definitely sounds like it here. A specific venue chose not to allow them to play there, yet his statement does nothing to explain that. Instead it goes off on the entire country, spouting overblown nonsensical bullshit like “America… is banning Behemoth.” By now I thought everyone understood freedom is a 2-way road and doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want regardless of any others involved.
It’s rather tongue-in-cheek; note the last sentence.
I noticed the last sentence, but I interpreted it as more of him scrutinizing freedom. I really don’t really see any context or tip-off as to how it’s supposed to be tongue-in-cheek.
Maybe those more familiar with the band can recognize it in the tone, but without that perspective, it sounds like he’s bitching over the wrong thing and blowing things out of proportion.
Just to clear the air on this, this show is still happening in Columbus. LOL @ anyone who thinks Rick and the Alrosa give a shit about a band’s religious beliefs. I feel terrible for Behemoth that they’ve had such bad experiences here in Ohio. Apparently, when they played Mayhem Fest 09 in Cleveland they didn’t have a high turn out for their set because a lot of the fans were watching the BMX bikers and they became upset and ended their set early. Hopefully I’ll make it out next Wednesday to show the guys that there are some real metalheads in Columbus.
Quit cuz not enough people were watching them? They sound like a bunch of pussies to me.
