It’s sad… He was once a creative artist. Now everything he puts out feels like he is either playing it safe or just not putting any real thought into it. he’s definitely lost something.

        • What?! His last album was very acoustic and mellow. Which, granted was a different side, but still enjoyable. This sounds like something off of Mechanical Animals to me. I am hoping that this is just the radio friendly song on the record. While I enjoy his more mellow stuff, I like his crazier stuff more.

I wouldn’t judge the whole album based on this single. Sounds good for what it is. According to Twiggy this will be their most “death metal” sounding record to date. Hopefully that is true and Manson gets his edge back.

Keep in mind this is a fuzzy radio rip.
I don’t mind this. It sounds a bit Rob Zombie… I think anyone expecting the Antichrist Superstar to come back from hell needs to give their head a shake. It was 16 years ago (!). Move on. Manson has. Will he ever go near the edge he had on stuff like “Irresponsible Hate Anthem”? Doubt it. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The “Born Villain” video released last year was pretty fuckin’ cool and original if you ask me. If this whole next album is in that vein, I’m interested.

    • The people who say that this is crap because it doesn’t sound like Antichrist superstar are the people who only own that one record from mansons discography, if that. He has six other albums, all unique and different sounding. If you want a band who has the exact same sound on every cd, buy a Staind album.

I was a fan up through the last album. The last one was generic and forced feeling. Lacked the typical Manson creativity and heart. I think his diversity is one of the reason the last album was so bad… It completely lacked any. Hopefully this one is better, but this song does not bode well.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Manson, but he has been disappointing lately.
I do not enjoy any artists that continually stay in one mode. For me creativity is the attraction. So bands like Godsmack that have re-released their first album 4 or so times now with new song names do not get any respect from me. Manson still has my musical respect, just not my money recently… He’s got to earn that each time out. I know he’s got it in him, but I fear he may never push it out again.

I like some of the music, I like the concept of the song. The guitar riffs though make the song seem pretty blah. I won’t judge the album based on this but man. If a lot of the guitar riffs are like that the whole album will seem blah.
