Limp Bizkit Frontman Fred Durst Says New EP Will Be “Heaviest, Most Crazy Metal Record Of All Time”

Limp Bizkit frontman recently chatted with Billboard.com regarding the groups new release plans, touring, their single with Lil Wayne and more. Speaking on “Ready To Go” — the bands collaboration with Lil Wayne, he offered:

“I want to get it out there soon, as soon as we can. The song is already done for the most part. I’ve got a couple little things I might poke around or punch in on my verse. And I want their guys to take a crack at the mix. I mixed it myself; I think it sounds very big, but I really love the way their guys are mixing stuff, so I want to see what they can do with it.”

He continued:

“It sounds like a monster; it literally sounds dangerous. It sounds like that left of center, that place of discomfort that created rock ‘n’ roll, created the (heavy) metal, where it all spawned from.”

A music video for “Ready To Go” is in the works with Durst at the helm. Current plans have both the track and video being released for free over the internet in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, it would appear that “The Unquestionable Truth Part 2” will be the groups first official release through Cash Money Records. The group are working on the expected EP which Durst describes as “the heaviest, most crazy metal record of all time.”

He further stated that it will “service our core and counter balance these big, fat, ginormous hip-rock songs we’re going to do. We’re gonna give out some mayhem and madness…to those people who really lean that way with us.”

According to the interview, the group are planning some global touring for the year, including a North American run in the fall.

I have to chuckle reading this. Even if it’s more metal than your ma’s kettle, no body will take it seriously. They have a better chance of changing their name and releasing it under a pseudo.

Durst must be smoking some new strain of crack cocaine that makes one suffer from epic delusions of grandeur. You are done kid. Oh and go tell Weezy to go fuck himself.

First, I’m not sure that actually means anything…

Second, he would have been better off saying that it’s the best stuff LB ever has done…

Third, fuck Fred Durst and everything that pathetic fucker stands for, why am I even responding to this? (Sorry, “It’s just one of those days”)

Bizkit were and are stlil heavy metal, albeit, hard rock/metal. Durst has a bad wrap but that doesn’t mean their music sucks. They have always put out pretty decent stuff it’s just that it’s not up to date with this day and age and that annoys people. They are all talented including Durst and I don’t even like Limp Bizkit like i once did during 3$Bill.

Fred has always been excited about their music and releasing albums. I admire him for being positive and stoked about releasing material. Most people just say “hey we have a new album coming out, it’ll be heavy” and that’s it. Nothing more nothing less.

Hey wait a sec! Negativity on the prp!? what a surprise! I know opinions are different and ofcourse not everyone is going to like something, but instead of just writing FUCK FRED HEs gay! he cant rap blah blah id love to see some actual constructive criticism. Ive always enjoyed limp cause I dont take them so seriously and musically they definitely have some good chops. I love it when I see someone write a paragraph on how much they hate this band and its usually the same people. Why the hell do you keep coming back? is it cause u have nothing better to do? Or is it because deep down you like the band a little but would never admit it cause it aint metal enough? I dont give a shit. I like Limp bizkit. Dont make me any less metal than you!

The thing is… LB has some decent grooves at time they came out, but the fact is Fred Durst does not want to be metal.
When they came out, the first CD… pretty decent (kind of raw production and a bit of a fresh vibe for rap-metal(ish), Fred had a different approach, he was a bit more raw…
Since then, he has been concentrating on his hip hop persona… Fine, good for him, but it is time to stop trying to cash in on a metal scene that he has abandoned… Just go make hip hop albums and go away. The most recent LB stuff has been very (poor) hip hop and very not metal. Fred is an egocentric fuckface and deserve all the shit he gets. If he was a nice guy and sucked, people would not talk near as much crap about him. But when you suck and then talk about how great you are while whoring yourself to any attention you can get, well, be prepared for the public mauling.

    • Wow, so Fred is saying this EP will be “the heaviest, most crazy metal record of all time.” This reminds me when Fred also said that “Results May Vary” album was going to sound like “Jane’s addiction meets Pantera.” Oh my, I just can’t wait for this EP! BLEH!

You guys, after 13 years you haven’t figured out that saying, “Our new song/album is the heaviest one yet/ever” is standard operating procedure for all Nu-Metal bands? It’s just Ike Turner telling Tina he’s a changed man.

Actually for me “The Unquestionable Truth PT 1″ EP has been their best effort since 3 dollar bill…

Lifeseclipse, is right! Rule number #1 for a numetal band was: Say your new album’s gonna be their heaviest yet! ahaha can’t remember right now one trully was heavier.

the problem with this band, especially noticable if you read the post of them signing to a new label is fred durst fred durst fred durst. nevermind the band limp bizkit its all what fred durst has to lay on the table. im my opinion when wes first joined back up and they released the unquestionable truth, the concept was brilliant. put a concept theme to it, add some gritty vocal filtering, and scruff up the production a little bit to make it sound more rough. it went over well with me. i welcomed the second and third. but, of all things is you follow his band at all you know its all fred durst fred fred. he made all the updates, he ran the website. he always announced projects and never followed up on them (TUT 2 3) , website revamp with band forums direct chatting, webisodes, christ even a massive world tour following the 2 year late release of the shitty gold cobra that was cancelled like 2 weeks into it. fred durst is the ruiner of this band period. wes borland shouldve stayed astray with black light burns and made something more out of it because it was a truly fresh change to the over crowded rock/metal scene. now it seems he too bullshits because he rushed out the covers album, and tweeted day and night that cruel melody pt 2 was in development and then silence for over a year…. instead doing guest spots on bands nobodys heard of albums. im over this band, especially after gold cobra, and im sure like any long lasting but withered fans such as myself, you agree that $3 bill was the hardest, best produced, and original album theyve ever released. keep it real, and drop the glamor shit. AND SCREAAAAAAAMM!!!!! instead of sounding like a pussy squealing and stupid lyrics like ‘feel like a a shovel always picking up shit’ and having a chorus of ‘ima fuck you up, fuck you up, fuck you fuck you fuck you up’ …. i wish hed get fucked up.

I realize this is old news however, with the recent wild events in my life I have been unable to weight in my two cents so here goes. When I was a young pup of 14 nu-metal got me into heavy music. LB was one of those bands along with RATM (who I hesitate to call nu-metal), the deftones, and early Incubus. With the first and last of that list now putting out rather shitty albums on the regular my heart aches once a blue moon for the nostalgia of my early teen music. 3 dollar bill y’all is still a fun record to jam once in a while. The unquestionable truth part 1 for me is also in that category. Sometimes I believe the true heavy fans might not have turned on LB (myself included) if UTP1 had been their second record. Long story short, I will be interested to here the unquestionable truth part 2 if indeed that is what is planned, if only for the nostalgia of my early teens.
PS. For those of you lucky enough to a) been around the metal scene before nu-metal or b) were born and came of age after nu-metal and think I’m crazy; you guys should read some of Wook’s old old reviews from the Vault. WE were all victoms (there are nu-metal bands in those reviews I’ve never heard of).

      • We all (If you are old enough) used to wear Doc Martens, Girbauds, Hypercolor t-shirts and slap braclets back in the day. That doesnt mean we have to like wearing the shit nowadays. My point is the majority of us think LB is fucking gay and wouldnt listen to them again for the exact reason we dont wear all those stupid clothes we wore 15 or more years ago….the shit is weak and lame.

I hope that answered anyone’s question as to why there are so many “haters”. We arent haters, we simply grew into cooler shit and realize how weak shit (LB) is now.

For the record, I’m 33. LB didnt get me into “heavy music”, Sepultura’s “Chaos A.D.” did.

$3DBY was heavier, groovier, and fresh… in ’97. The next record was huge because they used rap influences, some were put off by it. Durst has been saying “our next record is gonna be metal as hell,” since before Chocolate Starshit came out. That record wasn’t metal. RMV was awful. Then we heard “heaviest yet” again when TUTP1 came out, and it was heavy and musically decent, but Fred tried soooo hard to sound like Zack De la Rocha that it was laughable. Never even listened to Golden Cobra. I think any hope for this band is out the window unless they get a better vocalist. I see this going the GnR route, same band, new vocalist. Then Fred can tour under the LB name with a whole new group of mediocre musicians that don’t live up to the original. Now that they’re on Cash Money, that just means theres one more awful rapper on that label.

I don’t get the 3DBYA love. It was sub-Korn with a bit of Deftones and Cypress Hill. Significant Other is when they started to have an identity of their own, even if it was a poppier one. That and Chocolate Starfish=LB’s peak.
