COMMENTS
Not even a sarcastic comment from Wook in the news? Man, I had to read the article twice to be sure it was missing!
If only they were touring with Korn, Staind and Limp Bizkit, it would be 1998 all over again.
Sadly too busy/tired for such shenanigans and tomfoolery today.
there’s always time for a little tomfoolery.
Over the past six months this place has looked a tad Nu-Metal. All the reunions, new albums, new formations and such. It’s got me a bit off kilter. As if I am really back in highschool and the past 12 years have been a dream. If so I’m going to be pissed. Being a tattooe-less, sober, virgin with homework was not fun.
Ha! You tattoed, drunk slut, you.
As a guy I prefer the term “horn-dog” to “slut.” Actually I prefer God of Sweet Love Makin’.
Sssssssssssssslut.
(Sigh). Fine. Slut it is. Welp, off to further the other two thirds of said existense!
I’m curious how the new Orgy might sound 8 years after the last album.
Which wasn’t even an album, but a set of demos.
Punk Statik? Its was recorded in 2003-04, and released that same year. How is that a bunch of demos?
If my memory serves me correctly, Orgy recorded some demos for their third album, but got dropped by their label before recording the album. So they put out the demos as their third album on their own label instead. http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=17132
Doesn’t seem right. I remember years ago watching an interview with Jay on TV, where he pretty much just said they wanted to get a “more stripped down sound” on their 3rd album. I could be wrong.
He’s not exactly going to ‘fess up to releasing demos…That album sounds vastly inferior to the other two.
proximity to when something was recorded has nothing to do with whether they are demos or not
i actually kinda like PSP, but that was 8 years ago.
some of the things i used to listen to in the past should….stay in the past!
its sort of funny that orgy can come out of no where and tour and head cant buy a tour spot
Maybe Orgy and Head can tour together on some kind of sex-themed tour.
“Give Head in an Orgy”?
Orgy has jumped on the dub step train.
Pretty sad when your original guitarists would rather be in Chester from Linkin Park’s shitty unknown side project than in a band that once sold like 3x platinum.
He also got 2 members from Deadsy in this..how much more can you steal from Elijah Allman, Jay?
You mean Dead by Sunrise? that was not an unknown side project.
It should be though.
Har Har, I got into Linkin Park when I was 7/8 ish during 2003, I was always into some form of Heavy Music and yes at 7 years old, LP, counts as heavy music, and at that point I followed everything the band members did. I do have that dead by sunrise cd which I don’t really listen to….
least we don’t need to worry about him fucking cher
why is that said. being in that “shitty unknown side project” is a better shot at payday than Orgy.
Who is Elijah Allman? I only know Phillips Exeter Blue I, and Mr. Blue bears a striking resemblance to the kid playing guitar in that Cher video, strange…
threw up a little while reading this…..
Jamie Miller, how could you, dude? The dude should be in a better band thrashin some shit.
this may be gay, but it’d be nice to see jamie miller out of the house… he was always a favorite with snot imo
as a drummer, that dude influenced me heavily back in the day. that dude’s stage presence is insane.
16 year old me is pumped, if only because Jay lifted half of Deadsy’s line-up.
I wouldn’t call it stealing, though, since Deadsy have been Dead for a good five years. Homeboys gotta eat!
I meant stealing because Jay Gordan was originally in Deadsy before creating Orgy.
And low and behold, Orgy completely stole Deadsy’s sound..just made it more commercial..thats what I was referencing.
Eh, whatever. Both bands are/were friends, so I don’t think anyone really cares anymore.
yeah they all suck the same dudes’ dicks, its all good.
Yes, I too came up during the nu-metal renaissance but it’s it’s pretty fucking sad how much you guys seem to know about these fucking bands. Either A) you were that into fucking Orgy or B) you are simply regurgitating Wikipedia and trying to pass yourselves off as Orgy authorities. Lose/lose situation on that one.
I fit into (A). Orgy was on the Family Values Tour back in the late 90s and that was probably my biggest show at that point. 16-year-old me loved ‘em, and didn’t dig this other band called Incubus or something that played before Orgy (that’s right – before; this pre-Make Yourself). Then Korn came out and fuckin’ destroyed me and my buddies.
If that’s sad, I’m a sad, sad panda.
Haha what a douche. Bro, I knows tons of shit about shitty bands I dont like, so what?
What kind of a moronic post is this? Yes, I know a lot about the likes of Orgy and Deadsy…and guess what? I’m not ashamed to admit I sitll listen to that stuff from time to time. So what was your point?
Oh Snap! Is it time to play “Useless Knowledge About Shitty Bands”? I came of age in the hair metal heyday! If you wanna hear a bunch of useless shit about obsolete bands I can talk yer ear off!
im with you on that one, bro.
The chick from the Cherry Pie video did a cameo on Married with Children back in the day. I’d still be stalking her if she didn’t have a restraining order out on me.
So, lemme get this straight… People are complaining because “they liked Orgy back in the day” and it’s either ages ago, or feels like it; because they liked the associated acts (Deadsy, Snot, etc); because they like the new drummer… Am I the weird one who really liked Candyass and Vapor Transmission (and still like them), and is at least curious as to what they’re gonna do now? Yeah, I think it sucks that Gordon’s the only original member there, but still… And well, they had a ton of electronic stuff in their music, so Skrillex being involved in a song doesn’t really surprises me anyway, I’ll just look forward to listening to it, and if I don’t like it, I’ll just let it be, and move on to something else, not saying “oh, they suck now, and even if I liked their old stuff, now I don’t like it either!” – which seems kind of dumb if you ask me.
reading comprehension, dude. you learned that in middle school, use it. i dont know where you come up with your conclusions. just let people rant about useless shit opinions, that’s what this is for. fyi, i still like candyass and psp, vt not so much.
i agree. It’s gonna be interesting to hear how they sound after all these years. I’m sure they have matured alot and so they will have a much more mature sound for this day and age. It trips me out how people can just write off bands from back in their day
I love the fact I was in highschool in the early 90′s. Rock was alive and breathing back then. Pure heart and passion and great songwriting came out of the 90′s era. People cared more for writing good songs than just smoldering riffing that sounds the same track by track album after album like in the metal world these days.
I still rock Orgy, my palette may have expanded, but I still dig some shit I dug 10+ yrs ago
You know, when I first heard Stitches, I was like, Oh crap on a crap cracker, this is good, sorry for all the run-ons. I still like Orgy. Even Punk Statik Paranoia. Pure is a good ass mufuckin tune I dont give a shit if i get made fun of!
