I’m not feeling this at all. It doesn’t even sound like TMV, save for Cedric’s voice. Though 30s of a TMV track doesn’t necessarily tell you much about it overall.
Sounds rubbish.
Sounds cool to me. Either way, 30 seconds is like fucking 2% of a TMV song.
I refuse to listen to any of this until I can snag an eighth of blue gilled fungus and listen to my purchased copy on my Dr. Dre headphones. All of that is the truth minus the headphones, I wouldn’t pay $200for headphones.
I was gonna say!
His top of the line model costs $599 here! People actually wear them out in public stuck in their iPods. They look comical….but very street savvy.
I wasn’t positive of the price, but I’ll still just have to look like a dork on the street regardless.
Happy belated Australia Day, Curl of the Surl.
Thanks mate!
it does sound different but octahedron was light years different than Bedlam, and i think octahedron was one of their best works. i’m fucking stoked, and i’ll be waiting to see macaroons post some tripped out comments when the album is reviewed
Shitz gonna be more tripped out than Joyce’s “Finnegans Wake” or Lynch’s “Lost Highway”.

Amen, I thought I was the only one that thought Octahedron was the motherfucker.
Heard the entire song live, it’s awesome. This album will be unlike any Mars Volta album you’ve heard, it’s going to different, and some people won’t like it. I myself am glad they are willing to try new things. Artists in every sense of the word.
i saw them play a couple new tracks when they opened for soundgarden at red rocks but the mix was impossible to break apart. all i could hear was drums and omar’s phaser.
Looking forward to this BECAUSE it sounds so different. Good. It’s evolution, people!
This album has been on constant rotation, it’s really beyond words, beyond incredible. Cedric’s best album vocally, the band’s most haunting.
