    • Don’t the original artists have to sign off on any covers that are released commercially?

They must have caught Trent at a weak moment if he approved of this crap.

I normally do not have an issue with bands trying to cover songs because, well, it’s basically paying tribute. “Paint It Black”…sure…this song is easily-relatable for basically anyone. So, who cares if bands cover the shit out of that song?

      But, here’s the exception:

This song, in particular, is a very personal song about experiences that only Trent Reznor could describe. The only reason the Johnny Cash version was acceptable was because Johnny Cash is one of the few people that could probably relate to Trent’s experiences.

With that being said…I whole-heartedly agree that this song should henceforth be banned from being re-created.

WOW….I didn’t think it would be this bad. They honestly couldn’t have wrecked one of the best songs ever written any more.
Well put weird white dude…..it’s astonishing such an irrelevant and sub par band got away with this.

I think bands should save their cover songs for shows and stop selling other peoples music as their own. I understand it is supposed to be paying homage to the original artist, but to me its just lazy to release that stuff. Thats 100s possibly 1000s of dollars put into production and a music video for a song that a bunch of people have already done. Boo-urns!
