    • I get that they have a job and all, and maybe part of that was to not let anyone on stage (through some weird stipulations from the venue owner)… but c’mon man.

What are a few people jumping off the stage going to do anyhow?

      • I work security at a club in Detroit. We always used to let people get up on stage and as long as they werent staying up there too long or being obnoxious it was cool. But right after the Dimebag incident the boss said anyone who goes or tries to go on stage gets thrown out. I agree with it to a point because after that incident it sure changed my feelings on things. Now when im working I usually am cool and if someone tries to get on stage and I pull them down, im not throwing them out if they arent being idiots. Usually when I explain to them the deal they are cool, but as soon as you try it again especially if I explained it to you then yes im throwing you out. I dont want to throw anyone out cuz im a fan as well.

So I understand your point of “whats someone jumping off the stage” going to do, but you have to realize that after that terrible incident things had to change at least to a certain point. Hell when Down would play back in the day there were so many people goin up there and jumpin off it was a blast, but since then its changed. Phil especially now get all weirded out if someone gets up there and is not happy so unfortunately thats what alot of clubs have to do.

Long winded here but just wanted you to understand it from “our” side of the show. It sux hell yes but thats the way it is now thanks to that scumbag in Ohio. We are there to help you guys not hurt you guys, its only the few that f**k it up for the majority.

Hope that helped ya understand it a bit.

        • …oh and believe me I know there are some dumbass s\teroid induced security guys that are assholes and CANT WAIT for something to go down so they can show what a tough guy they are, those are the ones on “our side’ of things that fuck it up as well. I cant stand when we have those type working at our club, but thankfully 99% of our crew are there in case something happens and not hoping something happens.

Hell I just want to do my job, enjoy the show and get paid and not have to worry about getting hit, or hitting someone or having to call cops in. So yeah there are security guys out there that are imbeciles so I understand if you get pissed at those types, but most of us just want to have a nice quiet night, look at some hot chicks perhaps and listen to a good show haha.

Ok now im done, didnt want you to think that im blaming things on the crowd, it does go both ways at times.

Laughing my ass off at Andy one-handing one of the security guards and tossing them aside. I’d really like to know what he said to them, probably something like “I’ve taken shits bigger than you security fucks”. Something epic like that. Also, this is how a band is supposed to handle fucktard security, the show must go on.

What a bum out. I’ve done security many times and I understand the need to “secure” a venue. I really do. Stuff like that can be a liability. But like, It’s a Christmas show that they play EVERY year. AND it’s for charity. And it’s ONE song. AND c’mon, Look at Keith’s sweater!! Let the kids have some fun and get on stage for a song. Sure, Send a few guards up there to make sure nobody gets too out of control and to protect the bands gear, But seriously, Let the fans have some fun with a fun loving band.

Granted, The band could’ve had a security meeting about it before hand, As I know this wasn’t spontaneous because ETID do this all the time, But still, That security was dead wrong for that. Beating up kids. Bunch of Scrooges. BAH HUMBUG TO THEM!

    • if you back the video up a little bit it looks like keith asks the security guard something. then a few seconds later he tries to wave him off. so i blame it on that guy
