    • I’ve checked out all of these new Magnetic session tracks, this one is definitely the best. They are all awesome though, continuing on with the best shit they have done in 20 years. A fan reborn

Mustaine performing those old songs from with McGovney, Hetfield and Ulrich… man, that is cool. Metallica loses my respect, time after time, but somehow they always pull me back in.

But I’m a strange case, I actually like St. Anger, well, 7 of the 11 songs. But don’t get me wrong, those drum sounds and Hetfield’s stressed voice are terrible, but some of those tunes still work for me. I don’t know why. Perhaps because it was such a departure from Load and Reload; I still loathe those albums, they make me cringe more than anything on St.Anger.

      • See i can’t stand St. Anger, but I really liked some of what they did on Load. Re-Load was a weird album, but Load had some of Hetfield’s darkest lyrics i thought. It wasn’t all great, but Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, Thorn Within, House That Jack Built, and Until It Sleeps are all really good songs…I think that album gets shit on because its not a good Metallica album, but its a great rock album. This assumes that you hold Metallica to a higher standard than many other bands, which i generally do.

      • I like them all – if St. Anger were an album by a random band, it would probably be their best album (although hopefully not lyrically.) I love Frantic.
