Audio Of Mike Patton And John Zorn’s “The Christmas Song” Cover Available

In case you’re ready to dip into the onslaught of Christmas music early, you can sample John Zorn and Mike Patton‘s take on “The Christmas Song” below. The track can be found on iTunes as part of John Zorn‘s “A Dreamers Christmas” album.

It will also be available as a limited edition 7″ vinyl. If only I could have grown up on this, instead of that damned Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton Christmas album my parents tortured me with every holiday season.

Oh, yeah that kinda sucks. My Mom always threw on Neil Diamond or Elvis Presley. But the ones that ruled were the “A Very Special Christmas” CDs with Run DMC, Bruce Springsteen, and John Mellencamp.

..”Well my name’s DMC with the mic in my hand and I’m chillin’ and coolin’ just like a snowman..”

    • Mike Patton has such an amazing croon. His vocals on the Jamie Saft Trio cover of ‘Ballad Of A Thin Man’ is one of my all time favorite vocal performances ever.
This is also pretty good and I hate all Christmas music that isn’t by King Diamond.
