Fear Factory Demoing New Material

Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares has been demoing new Fear Factory material as of late. Apparently he has also been campaigning to get Hatebreed, etc. frontman Jamey Jasta to guest on the next Asesino release as well.

    • I’m not gonna talk shit about Archetype or Transgression… they had their ups and downs. The only Fear Factory record I’ve ever just hated was Digimortal. But none of that matters anymore, as Mechanize effectively erased the band’s entire discography with something totally fucking badass. Stoked.

      Demanufacture : 10 – Riff-wise, it’s still incredible
      Obsolete : 8.5 – Solid, but a few stinkers
Digimortal : 6 – Not as bad as everyone says it is. A couple of great songs. Still some solid songwriting
Archetype : 7.5 – First half is great. Second half is whack
Transgression : 1 – Awful, and it doesn’t even sound like FF
Mechanize : 6.5 – sounds forced. A couple of good tunes, but it’s nowhere near as good as Demanufacture or Obsolete

      • I love each FF album in its own way and don’t see any need to rank them like that. Transgression was the only time they’ve ever really let me down, and even that album has some great songs. Aside from that one, I tend not to discriminate too much with FF material.

        • Man o man – I had never heard or seen FF until I was at the Sepultura Chaos AD tour stop in FL. FF came out and I had no idea what the fuck was happening. I had never heard or seen anything like it. They were max brutal and I did the only respectful thing I could do at that time – I went to Camelot Music the next day and bought Soul of a New Machine on TAPE.

Mechanize is far and away their best album, the songs are kick ass live. Their old albums I dont even own because I thought they were weak, only a few good songs per album. That being said it’s almost like comparing two different bands. Only a couple of CDs have had as much staying power in my car as mechanize lol.

      • Easy tiger… If you can’t dig Obsolete, there’s somethin’ wrong with ya ears. Shock is their best song. Ever. And fuckin’ retarded in the pit. SHOOOCK!!!!!!!!!

      • Seriously dude. I love the shit outta Mechanize too and consider it among their best, but there MUST be something wrong with you if you can’t appreciate their older albums. Weak??? Transgression, Archetype, and Digimortal are controversial for different reasons (though good IMO), but you really can’t dig Obsolete, DMNF, and SOANM??? Mechanize CAME from those mothers.

I had a really funny feeling that they had fucked up.
It says Asesino instead of Brujeria now.
Dino and Brujeria are no more.
Brujeria now calls Asesino a “imitation”.
Loved “Corridos de Muerte”….but Im still patiently waiting for Brujeria’s new record.

      ………….BRUJERIZMO!!!!
