    • There’s a lot of incredible bands on this list, but really? Angels & Airwaves? Versa Emerge? Black Veil Brides? Relient K? These seem really out of place…

Are you kidding me, Limp Bizkit, Manson and Hole seem out of place. VersaEmerge, and Relient K are ten times better bands than the previous mentioned trash.

    • Didn’t expect to see some of these groups ever headlining/playing shows ever again. Pretty cool. Too bad it’s on the other side of the fucking world.

This festival spans an assload of genres. I can accurately say that I do not like at least 50% of these bands. But would I like to attend this show?…You bet your shitty asshairs, I would!

I’m a llittle concerned about the potential for injuries sustained by mass bottle-chucking though… *cough* Dashboard Confessional*cough*Jack’s Mannequin*cough*Black Veil Brides*cough*

I was at soundwave the year Alice In Chains headlined with NIN and they really do have a much better set up then the Big Day Out. I have no idea why Soundgarden are doing that shit with fucking Kayne West and the like instead of this. Looking foward to another day of $8 fucking mid strength bourbans.

      • I still think the first Soundwave in ’07 was the best. It was majority just punk, hardcore, post-hardcore and metalcore bands. Deftones headlined. Thrice pulled off an excellent set, whilst having to deal with shitty sound and The Bronx d-estroyed. Memories.

        • Indeed that was a good show. Not sure if you were at the Sydney show but I was very unprepared for the rain and cold that day. Every market stall had sold out of jumpers and I was left huddled under a shrub like a drowned cat when bands weren’t playing. Deftones made it worthwhile though.

        • Oui, I was indeed at the Sydney show. I came prepared with a crappy plastic poncho, which kind of did the trick. But there was now way of escaping the constant drizzle.

Re. the Deftones – it was an interesting set, since they were essentially touring off the back of SNW being released, so we heard a lot of track from that record you would never hear now. It was a very dense set. Chino was a far cry, physically, from where he is nowadays. They did pull out some classic from Adrenaline which was cool. Incidentally seeing them in January @ the Roundhouse blew my pants off.

Another interesting POI – that was the last festival tour Eighteen Visions did. You could see them falling apart in front of your very eyes. Still, it was cool to at least see ‘Tower of Snakes’ performed live.

        • That roundhouse show blew me away too, not only because it was the return of ‘Skinny Chino’ , but the fact that they started off with about 4 tracks striaght from Adrenalin was absolutely superb.

Contrast to that I also saw team sleep at the same venue a while back. There was only a very small crowd . I can still remember Chino rapping the song from ‘Revenge of the nerds’ over the top of a track. It was tops.

    • This lineup makes up for the years I wished I could get myself to an Ozzfest show back in the early 00′s. Even though it has taken the good part of a decade, it will be worth the wait. The closest concert I could compare to this is the year Soulfly, Korn and Marilyn Manson played on the same bill at the Big Day Out.
