I’ve been a huge Will Haven fan since El Diablo so this is pretty diffcult for me to type…I didn’t like it at all. It’s the second track i’ve heard from the new album and the second disappointment. I really hope the other 8 tracks on the album piss all over this and Midas Secret. For the life of me I don’t get why they would pick this track to make a video of…this song doesn’t go anywhere.

I love Will Haven. “WHVN” still get’s semi regular play on my speakers, But I have to agree with @jimmydabosh and say this song isn’t terribly interesting and is WAY anticlimactic. I’ll still check out the record out tho. Just hope this song doesn’t set the bar for the entire album.

i also thing it was a bad decision to release this as the official videoclip.. but i kind of like it knowing that it’s the fist song of the album.

I agree with most of the comments here regarding the strange choice of song for their first video off of their new record. However, I’m also in complete agreement with Surly regarding the creation of a real sense of “atmosphere”. Throughout all of their albums, they have never failed on that level.

Perhaps they’ve chosen this song and video to prepare listeners for what to expect with the rest of the record in regards to mood and atmosphere. If that is the case, I really admire them for choosing this song because it is in direct opposition with most other bands and albums in that most other bands (usually influenced by their label) are usually quick to choose the song that will earn them the most radio-play or at least the song deemed to be the one that will be most popular.

I am excited for this one.

      • I agree, I thought the song was good. I like the dark and foreboding feelings it creates. Sure, it doesn’t follow a canned song structure (verse, chorus, verse, chorus) but its sets a mood, creates a vibe, and for that it’s successful. More thought provoking than anything…
