Five Finger Death Punch Guitarist Reacts To Criticism Against The Band And Their Fans
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory has addressed the criticisms he often finds leveled at the band and their fan base. Speaking in the military themed latest issue of “Revolver“, he offered”
“The new album is all about that ‘get up and fight’ attitude. We always get this criticism that our band is for boneheads that go to the gym, you know what I mean? Whatever, dude. I’d rather take that a thousand times over than crying about something.
It’s like, OK, then I’m the bonehead that goes to the gym – and I will stand up and I will fight and I will survive. It’s always been a survivalist attitude. That’s what connects to people who have the same sort of attitude.
You gotta respect the soldiers who sign up and go over to the Middle East and elsewhere. Of course, they’re going to have a similar attitude because they are those guys. They are those guys who will fight for something that is right.”
Five Finger Death Punch will release their new album “American Capitalist” on October 11th through Prospect Park. No word yet as to whether or not it will be released on an Affliction shirt…

I accidentally saw these guys at the Mayhem Fest (I know, I took my cousin there) and I noted how all of these guys appeared pretty whimpy and out of shape, which doesn’t cut it, yo – especially if you’re all about getting up and fighting. Can somebody on this thing explain to me why this fucking band is so popular right now? Somebody said they are like Nickelback on steroids. So true. Do you know what type of people this band is for??? It’s for the fan that can’t take it to the next level. They are for somebody that listens to Bullet for my valentine and Slipknot but aren’t metal enough to start listening to bands like Black Dahlia Murder, Warbringer, Lazarus AD, Unearth ETC…It seems like alot of these bands are popping now. Ever since the whole deathcore movement got started with bands like Red Chord, Black Dahlia, Job for a Cowboy, Whitechapel and All Shall perish. These idiot Five Finger Cock Grab fans could never listen to shit like that because they are not real metal heads. This band is definitely for the dudes that wear tapout shirts.
They are popular because The Firm has been throwing a shitload of money at them for a long time now. The bands you mention are pretty shitty too: I can totally understand why people listen to 5FDP: It’s shit, but at least it’s accessible shit.

The thing that pisses me off about this band is that (with the exception of their singer) there is some moderate talent in the band. On a few songs you will hear the beginning of a decent solo or a decent drum part, but that is usually the extent. Unfortunately, instead of utilizing their skill and improving upon their skills, these jack-asses have decided to settle for being in a band like 5FDP because they know that the majority of the moron’s that listen to the radio will hear their crap. This band sucks. Everyone knows. I was running jokes threw my brain hoping to land on the best one when your “tag name thing” caught my eye.
“My Farts Linger.” That is fucking awesome, fuck the band and my jokes. That is fucking awesome. So to sum it up, that is fucking awesome! Just sayin.’
I don’t really give a shit if I get heat for saying this but I do find this band okay to listen to sometimes. Moody isn’t the greatest at writing lyrics and it does ruin some songs but out of the albums they have put out I usually enjoy 2-3 songs on them. Although I don’t just like metal either, I enjoy pretty much all music except rap and country.
Call me an idiot if you want, label me based on a music selection I make, I hope it makes you feel better but honestly… yawn… who cares. I am not a bonehead, not a work out freak, I don’t wear tapout tees and am not an idiot. Do most of the songs they make suck? Yeah but some are good.
