Former The Human Abstract Vocalist Speaks On His Departure
Now former The Human Abstract singer Travis Richter has addressed his recent departure from the group. Speaking via his Tumblr, he offered the following:
“A couple months ago I told the guys I wasn’t going to tour anymore for a couple reasons. One, I’m turning 30 and have given all my time to bands and the road, and I want to be able to start a family and see my parents and grandparents more. Secondly, I graduated with an audio production degree, and I feel myself being pulled into that world as more of a full time position. I think The Human Abstract is an amazingly gifted group of musicians with mind bending potential and I couldn’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me since I joined the band in feb of 2010. The fans have also been more than amazing and accepted me into the THA family, and for that I sincerely thank you!”
As reported yesterday, the band have enlisted Ryan Devlin of Corelia as their new touring vocalist.

ok so you joined the band for a year and half knowing that you gave your own career a “shelf life”. dick move…
Word.
yep couldnt agree more, i really liked travis in the band but thats a dick move for sure
And he didnt think of any of this when he was 28?
and i respect this guys talent, and he has mountains of it, but i just dont agree with doing that to an established band thats on the rebound. sure if youre just getting started and youre demoing ideas, making an EP, doing a regional tour, FINE. but im guessing that these guys sought a viable replacement, hoping for a long term collaborator…
Travis. Life begins at 30, ya dickhead.
I keep telling myself this as I inch closer and closer to the dreaded day. Father Time can feel free to perform cunnilingus on my backside.
Welcome the embrace.
