Slipknot Frontman Writing Songs With Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver/Ex-Guns N’ Roses)

Those pining for a collaboration between Slipknot and alumni of Guns N’ Roses just may be in luck. Despite Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) not landing the role as Velvet Revolver‘s new frontman; it would appear he and Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver, etc.) have some plans in the works.

Speaking on Fuse TV‘s “A Different SpinTaylor offered the following:

“Me and Duff will probably do some stuff later. Me and him, we really hit it off, and we’re really close, and we started writing songs together, and we’ve got some really good stuff. So, you never know. There might be a mystery supergroup out there – me and Duff and some other weird people – making some weird music that people are, like: ‘What? That’s them?’ So, yeah, maybe. We’ll see what happens.”

Slipknot really should move on without him by now, I have a ton of respect for Corey’s early work, the first two Slipknot albums drove me and my buds absolutely MAD! Corey’s voice was freakish to say the least, but I fear bringing him back in the mix will cause a similar effect that we saw on all hope is gone. Is it just me or did anyone else feel like they were listening to stone sour on a few of those songs?
