    • For those who are scrobblers of digital music, here’s how the band and songs are named according to the downloaded ep. I kind of wish they didn’t use the † for every t though.

      Artist name: ††† (Crosses)
      track 1: †his Is A †rick
      track 2: Op†ion
      track 3: Bermuda Locke†
      track 4: †hholyghs†
      track 5: †

No joke! Two listens in and it has totally surpassed my expectations. Just yesterday, I was thinking of the videos they’ve been posting, asked myself when this would ever come to fruition and BAM! If a full-length precipitates from this that’d be pretty damn rad.

    • @jayofdajungle It was confusing as hell when (Eighteen Visions etc side-project) N3V3R 3N0UGH also called themselves Never Enough. When it comes to ††† (Crosses), I wonder if the written lyrics also feature an orgy of crosses exchanged for the letter T as well. That would make my eyes bleed.

    • All I know is that this music is art. High art maybe but art none the less. Chino Moreno is an artist as well as the composer I would assume.

The upgrade just has the lyrics and the artwork. It’s pretty minimal. I basically picked it up just to show some support because dropping an ep while I’m sleeping and waking up to a free one to “try out” all day/forever is pretty nice. But, something tells me that if you enjoy this and don’t have $5 to drop as courtesy, there are likely much bigger problems in your life!

    • @MetalMusicAddict & HonoluluBlueBalls – it’s actually .wav files. I grabbed it yesterday morning. Now I wish these assholes would put it out on vinyl. Yo, I’ll pay more than $5 for that. Definitely pretty crazy how quickly this came out – I feel like it was just three to four weeks ago this site was posting the preview snips. I agree with shelling out $5 to show some respect and support.

The format of the free version is mpeg4, so I’m assuming the wav format would be the “higher quality” version. I agree that the $5 should be no issue for fans, but I just got a $6000 tuition bill in the mail so Chino’s ass will have to wait. :P
It is pretty solid though. It reminds me of Team Sleep meets SNW, which makes sense considering the influence Lopez had on Chino’s vocals on the SNW album. I also hope this satiates Chino’s urge to make this style of music so that the next Deftones album will feature their signature sound with minimal electro inluence.

@Dax – 24/96 or standard 16/44.1? (yes i am a audio nerd) If it’s just standard 16/44.1, FLAC is fine as it’s what I’ll go to anyway.

    • @MetalMusicAddict – it’s standard. 16 bit sample size and 44.100 kHz sample rate. I wish they, and more artists, were releasing higher fidelity – especially since you know they recorded it at a higher level. Still pretty kick ass nonetheless!

I took the plunge and grabbed them before looking here 1st. Yeah, standard WAV.

So for those of you who are audio nerds just grab the FLAC. Tagged and sorted already. Hell, even if you’re not a nerd why pay the same price for lower quality? :)

Also comes with full hi-res (4500×4500) art and handwritten lyrics. If you had a nice printer you could pretty much print it and slap it in a jewel case. (missing the spines though)
